I have come to learn to play the drums late in life, at 55, and have been having lessons with Ian for several months. Ian is a great teacher and does not push the learning, but allows you to develop and progress at your own pace. He is very flexible on when you need to have your lessons and what you want to learn in each lesson.

My daughter taught herself some basic drum skills over lockdown but wanted drum lessons to move herself on. Ian was extremely helpful and responded to my enquiry promptly, He made my daughter feel very relaxed and she really enjoyed her first lesson. She is thoroughly enjoying her lessons and wants to practice. The lessons are fun and Ian is very good at engaging with his pupils.

Our son, who is 12, started drums a year ago at school. He started having lessons with Ian in March this year as he wanted more input than just lessons at school. Great drum lessons for my son. Ian has been teaching my 9 year old for a year now who has gone from a complete beginner to playing along to his favourite Michael Jackson and Bon Jovi songs. Ian is really patient and encouraging. He ensures the lessons are varied in content and sets different tasks to complete in between lessons.

Ian taught me 12 years ago while I was In high school and I recently got back into drums and Ian is teaching me again. He very passionate about drums and has a great knowledge of different genres and styles of music, which he uses to explain how you can build upon the things he is teaching you, so you can learn more and adapt to your style of music.
