Beyond The Edge

Just finished a brilliant 5 day winter hill skills course in Scotland with Beyond the Edge. James was an excellent instructor, explaining and demonstrating everything really clearly, then allowing plenty of time to practice with constructive feedback. I now feel confident to safely venture out into the mountain on my own or with friends. I would highly recommend this 5 day course to anyone wishing to walk in the UK mountains in winter conditions.

Great weekend course on basic rock climbing. Instructor patient with all learners abilities and routes were thoughtfully set up. Good deal of effort made to make sure we saw a variety of climbs and areas. Left with a clear understanding of the sport, my levels and next steps required. Good weekend with good people.

We were able to book a space for two on the beginner climbing course only a week before. I called before to make sure and they were very informative and helpful over the phone. Easy to book! Laid back atmosphere but felt totally safe and learned loads over the two days from David. Went to some absolutely beautiful places there David chose for us each day based on our preferences. I wanted to say a massive thank you to Claire for the recent Mountain Skills course. The course was excellent! It covered everything I hoped it would and a little bit more. It took us off the beaten track and got us using the map skills that Claire had taught us. The 3 day Hill and Moorland Leader training course was excellent. Oli (Bear Grylls look-a-like) is extremely knowledgeable and has an expert approach to teaching us exactly the skills I needed. The course was well planned, detailed and left me feeling much more confident navigating the countryside. I highly recommend this course to others.
