Bentley Golf Club

Set on the a128 tilbury to ongar road which boasts five golf courses on its fifteen mile stretch , this arguably for its all round quality , along with a working class homely touch making you feel at ease in such surroundings is the best of the bunch. Those of you who visit different courses of different grades will know what I mean by that . It’s a touch more expensive than some , but worth every penny

Such a lovely venue for a funeral reception. Nice surroundings. Plenty of car parking. Friendly, obliging staff. Tasty & varied buffet . Lots of seating indoors & outdoors. Bar available to buy drinks. Highly recommended. 👍

Phoned ahead and asked about using a 4ball voucher we bought in auction for £100 for just a 2 ball and having another 2 ball voucher issued, was told it wouldn’t be a problem so travelled from Colchester to be told by an extremely arrogant general manager that it wasn’t the case and it was just tough! Didn’t even bother to get up from his desk - not great customer service - disappointing when the course and amenities are so nice - wouldn’t recommend!

Course is tree lined and very good. Greens needed a bit of work but early in the season (April). Clubhouse was OK. Food & service was good but ambience felt strange. Not sure why. Pro short very helpful and a credit.

Venue for our Annual Cycling Club Sunday lunch. With 50 covers on the day this year, the choices had to be made in advance from a decent menu. Generous portions too. Food was excellent and staff were friendly and helpful. The large windows mean the sunlight streams in and you can watch the golfers outside too.
