  • Having taken part in both reenactment and HEMA for a number of years, and being very into the history and techniques of 14th-16th century masters I was looking for a local club that focused on this. Basingstoke HEMA fit the bill nicely: with focus on Meyer's 1568 and 1570 works (amongst several) there is clear structure and reason to the information and training provided. Anthony, who set up the club, is incredibly helpful and friendly to all regardless of experience. Great fun and very int...

  • Great place to learn the art of the sword, with the 3 different instructor's. It allows them to teach you depending on your ability and keeps class sizes small and helps you learn much faster. Very welcoming and the instructor's are always happy to answer any questions or give you a bit of one on one time if your struggling with something. Plus first lessons free !!!

  • This is the friendly environment to learn sword fighting in you've been looking for. Learning goes at your pace and is provided by teachers who are continuously helping students develop. All the club members are super supportive in helping you learn in a safe, fun and friendly atmosphere. Probably the best sport I've taken up in recent years. And yes, after a month or two you will absolutely feel like Geralt of Rivia. Come and get your Witcher on!

  • Basingstoke is the friendliest HEMA club that I have ever been to. The instructors are top notch and each have a different style that compliments the others. If you can’t learn from this team, take up origami!

  • This club is great, the instructors know so much about historical fighting and they're very careful with safety in the club. The first session is free to see if you like it and everyone is so friendly to newcomers! 10/10
