If so, join us on our Free 3-Session Online Learning Taster Course, an introduction to our January-start degrees. This course has been designed to give you a taste of what it is like to study with us virtually, as well as giving you tailored support for your university application. You will get a virtual art university experience, and a chance to meet some of the lecturers for the subjects you are interested in studying.
You’ll get an insight into how our January-start degrees are taught, how you submit work and how you can develop your skills. This course has been designed to help you feel equipped to commence your studies in January 2025, on one of our January-start degrees.
Each of the below sessions will consist of a lecture, workshop or project alongside the chance to ask any questions about making your application..
Registering will include all 3 sessions. You will need to be logged into the course on the following dates and times:
Session 1 - Wednesday 16 October 2024, 3 hrs / 8:45am - 11:45am
Join us for an exciting and engaging workshop led by published children’s book illustrator and author and Arts University Plymouth lecturer, Jack Viant. This interactive session promises to be both fun and educational, featuring hands-on activities and elements designed to keep you fully engaged.
Session 2 - Wednesday 20 November 2024, 3 hrs / 8:45am - 11:45am
Experience a live lecture from Jason Hirons, our Course Leader for Distance Learning. This interactive session will give you a preview of what it's like to be part of our dynamic online distance learning course, engage with course content and ask questions in real time.
Session 3 - Wednesday 18 December 2024, 3 hrs / 8:45am - 11:45am
Enjoy an informative and engaging session led by the Adam Levi, our Senior Learning Technologist and all-round expert in tools for digital education. In this session, you'll gain valuable insights into navigating Canvas, our online learning platform, ensuring you feel confident in managing your coursework, accessing resources, and participating in discussions. You'll also have the opportunity to engage in an interactive workshop designed to enhance your learning experience.
As a student on one of our January-start degrees, you’ll join a truly global community of creative learners. This hybrid degree allows you to complete your first year of studies remotely by July 2025, before taking a short summer break and then continuing straight on to the second year of your chosen degree, studying in-person at our city-centre Plymouth campus, in September 2025. This option is available for the following degrees:
To apply you will need to meet the following criteria:
Aged 18-70, at the start of the course
Interested in studying at Arts University Plymouth in January 2025
Want to explore higher education opportunities at an undergraduate level
Planning on studying in the UK on a student visa (if not a UK citizen)
Able to meet Arts University Plymouth Language requirements, more information on this here (International students)
Eligible for at least 3 years of student funding or looking at self-funding a Higher Education course. (More information on if you are eligible can be found at https://www.gov.uk/student-finance/who-qualifies.)
