Had a great “Exploring Abstract art course with Stephen at Art Courses. It was good to try something different, Stephen is an inspiration , very approachable and gives good feedback . It was fun and friendly with good biscuits ! I would highly recommend these classes and I am hoping to do another course this summer .

Thoroughly enjoyed it and grew. Did the beginners course for acrylics. Never done it. Always curious. Nervous about the material, the process and the techniques. Turns out everyone was in that boat. Phew. Stephen was engaging, fun, informative and supportive. The environment and approach made you feel like an artist, not a rookie. I learnt about terminology, hacks, and styles. I recently completed the oils and acrylics course after not painting in over 10 years. Stephen helped me to rediscover my love for painting! I enjoyed showing up to his classes and being fully engaged, the time would fly by. Stephen is as hands on as you want him to be and always provides really sound advice. If you want to fine tune your skill, you’re a beginner or you want a dedicated 3 hours per week of uninterrupted painting then I highly recommend signing up to a course!

Both the intro and the next steps course were fantastic. Stephen is a warm and deeply experienced teacher who made me feel at ease in an instant. The classes gave me the confidence to finally put a brush to paper, and I was genuinely delighted with the what I achieved under Stephen's guidance in just 3 sessions. I'd previously only ever made "brown mush" but now I feel confident experimenting and developing. Can't wait to attend more sessions :)

Absolutely loved doing a colour course with Stephen at Art Courses. It was great to try painting in oils (which I'd never done before) and try a different way of working than usual to challenge myself.
