My dad surprised me with a 3 hour sailing experience with Neil for my birthday. From start to finish, the whole afternoon was amazing - Neil was professional, friendly, patient & funny. We were booked on what was one of the hottest days of the year & Neil helped us make the most of every bit of wind we had, even helping me beat my dads top speed! We wouldn’t hesitate to book another sailing experience with Neil when we’re back in the lakes, maybe doing the evening experience next time. Don’t ...

Having never sailed before, and wanting an on-water experience during our time in the Lake District, Neil seemed to fit the bill. However, he exceeded our expectations. He was patient, jovial, instructive, and a very good coach as we handled the boat. Our only wish was that the trip lasted longer. We had a lovely time and would highly recommend.

"Organised a sailing visit to Windermere for a client, staying at the Langdale Chase Hotel and sailing with Neil of Ark Sailing. Client had a great day sailing with Neil in lively conditions. He did 25 miles in the day; not bad on a lake only 10 miles long, which probably explains why the last 5 were bumpy. Stopped for lunch in the pub and changed helms in the afternoon so his wife could show him how to do it. Has already booked next session with Neil. Could become a habit.🤓"

He has a lovely relax manner and thoroughly engaged us with his knowledge and stories. Our son thought Neil was good fun and highly entertaining, but he also gave us quiet time to enjoy our our experience as a family. Neil kindly helped us get p...

Great sailing tuition, kept 2 teenagers fully engaged all day and we all enjoyed getting up to RYA Level 2 Keelboat, over the course of a total of about 5 days afloat. Our first day was, by our choice, more of a 'taster' day, but the skills learned were carried forward by Neil into Level 1 and then Level 2. Particular kudos to Neil for giving us an extra free day because we were forced to abandon the second day of Level 1 due to gales and rain. We scheduled Level 2 for the next suitable hal...
