This will cover the different types of buries services that exist, current legislation and the best practice concerning detecting buried services, the safety implications of not using a locator and associated ancillary equipment, reference to use of local utility plans, observation of evidence in the street etc. ð Course Contents
Identification of Underground Services and Common Marking
Legislation, regulations and best practice with respect to detecting and training underground services
Reasons for using locators
Hazards arising from the use of CAT and Genny and precautions which should be observed
Identification of types and limitation of CAT and Genny
Implications of damage, handling and transporting of equipment
Inspecting, calibrating and testing of equipment
The methods of safe use of pipe and cable location equipment, along with basic locating techniques
