THE VISION
Words cannot do the Espace Killy justice. Its reputation as being a snow-sure high altitude haven for experienced skiers is well deserved and accurate. Very few other resorts in the world offer a variety of terrain and runs that can match it. Our Coaching team is made up of some of the highest qualified instructors in racing and freestyle, holding specialist off-piste, freestyle and race coaching qualifications. They are ready to help you make massive changes to your skiing.
As with all of our long residential courses, we supply avalanche equipment as standard. Avalanche safety and rescue training are essential skills for any aspiring free-riders, and we focus a large part of our training on mountain safety, especially in the backcountry. Our team focus on developing these skills throughout the course, and by the end of the programme, you will be able to safely navigate off-piste without a guide.
From Tignes les Brevierres right up to Le fornet in Val d’Isere then options are endless. Our personal favourite runs include “White Rabbit” with its well-spaced trees, small drops and natural kickers and “Gendarme”, which requires detailed local knowledge as you work your way through a small break in a band of cliffs before hitting a series of avalanche barriers that make perfect drops and finally lead you out into a steep area with well-spaced trees. You will have plenty of time to decide which is your favourite.
During the programme, you will spend time race training in gates/stubbies on the Stade, in the park with freestyle coaches, in the bumps and steeps, working on Piste-Performance and of course, skiing some of the incredible freeride terrain that Val d’Isère has to offer.
