Our Level 4 Ski Instructor Courses in St Anton are designed to challenge you technically and push you to the edge of your comfort zone. With a strong focus on technical alpine skiing, and for those committed to completing their ski instructor qualifications. You must have completed some parts of your ISIA or equivalent qualification.

OVERVIEW

Doing your ISIA Train & Work St Anton Course is a no-brainer as it’s part of Austria’s largest connected ski area AND is the home of modern alpine skiing thanks to local guide Hannes Schneider, who pioneered what we consider modern skiing in the 1930s. The resort has achieved cult status amongst skiers due to the massive variety of connected terrain. There are gorgeous pistes perfect for practicing short and long turns, mogul fields, and even itinerary runs where you can rip up the untouched snow! What’s more, it’s an off-piste haven – you have to be quick to get fresh tracks here.

The mentors will be with you for about 20 hours each week but don’t worry it is not all drills and skills. Our aim is to make you the best skiers possible, you will spend time on piste, in the park and in the backcountry developing your all-mountain skills, preparing for the exams and just having some fun. This is why we believe this course is the perfect balance of shadowing a ski school, continuing your training and getting a feel for working* for a ski school.

*If you plan to work in Austria, you must obtain a work permit.

It is of primary importance that your training is relevant to you and your training goals whilst delivered to the highest quality. Whether you would like to continue your career in St Anton or move elsewhere, it is our goal to help you get results. For that reason, we may use both trainers from within New Generation and external trainers to work with you on your goals and skill development, as mentioned above.

As a trainee in the programme, you will have the opportunity to shadow many lessons during the season. From beginners to advanced off-piste lessons. This is a great opportunity to learn from instructors who are already working full time.

The training which includes mountain safety sessions will prepare you well for on or off-piste skiing. Meaning you will know what to expect in terms of terrain and task for your exams. Each student is given a coaching mentor who will monitor their progress and help the student to structure their practice time by regular debriefs and action plans.

What to Expect

Our coaches are handpicked from our teams across the Alps to reach your potential, cement your love for the sport and show you the best terrain on the mountain. All of our coaches are picked from different governing bodies, meaning you will get a feel for multiple ski organisations, making you a more rounded skier. They also know precisely what you have to do when the exams roll around. During the course, you will become versatile all-mountain skiers capable of tackling anything the mountain throws at you. Your training will develop your skiing in all areas from Piste Performance to freestyle, building your technical understanding and honing your teaching skills.

Whatever your goal, this program provides the best way to advance your skiing and continue your progression. With all the training, kit and support you need to become one of the world’s best instructors or take your riding to a level that will make others envious.

*To ski off-piste safely, you must carry a transceiver shovel and probe. We will take you off-piste during your course and highly recommend that all students purchase their own safety equipment. If you don’t purchase avalanche safety equipment you will need to hire it for the off-piste days.
