Description

This is a recording of an online class that I taught to a small group. I made it available on demand as I thought others might find it useful. 

It is a relaxed class, ideal for when your energy is low or simply when you want a slow start to your practice.

It commences with a short self-massage sequence that includes the joints and sinews of the legs and feet. This promotes the movement of fluids and vayu (the internal winds/prana) through those regions, followed by an overall focus throughout the session on subtle sensations to help direct your awareness internally.

Prior experience in shadow yoga is recommended.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • I'm worried I might hurt myself doing a yoga class, how can I make sure I practice safely?

    Always take care to stay within your own personal realm of ability. NEVER push or try to force yourself into a posture as this is when you are most likely to hurt yourself. PLEASE TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR OWN BODY. It really isn’t important if you can ‘get into the position’ or not, it’s HOW YOU PRACTICE that counts.

    As a rough guide consider this: if you are struggling to breathe properly, you are not practising properly.

  • Can I eat before attending the class?

    As with all yoga practice, refrain from eating for at least 1 ½ - 2 hours beforehand, Depending on your digestion, it might be helpful to leave even longer; listen to your body.

  • Will I need to use props?

    If you think they might be necessary, grab yourself some props beforehand and keep them close by just in case. This could be yoga blocks and bolsters etc... but you can make do with folded/rolled up towels or blankets if you don't have any, and if you don't have yoga straps to help you with a forward bend for instance, just use a belt or old tie.
