Description

Come along to Stitching Kitchen spend a day in our light and airy sewing studio creating your own summer dress.

We will be using the Fleetwood Frock by Sew Different - an elegant sun dress with an empire line bodice, perfect for festivals and afternoon tea alike! It has integrated straps and a full panelled skirt with top-trimmed pockets in the side panels. It also has two length options mini or midi!


What you will learn/achieve

  • Taking accurate measurements and choosing the correct size

  • Making adjustments to suit your body shape

  • The best way to construct your garment.



What's included

Tuition: full instruction and support from Emma Smithin a small class (maximum of 6).

Use of our Pfaff machines in Stitching Kitchen's fully equipped studio.

A copy of the Fleetwood Frock by Sew Different paper pattern worth £20 is included.

Tea and cake.



What to bring

A packed lunch as we will break for 30 minutes for lunch

You will need up to 3.5 m of fabric, 0.75m of iron on interfacing, 18cm zip and matching thread. You can buy a discounted fabric bundle from Stitching Kitchen, fabric options are to be found along side the pictures above.


Please note that this workshop is held in our light and spacious first floor studio at Stitching Kitchen, which is accessible by stairs.

Although we hope you will complete your garment on the day it will depend on how many adjustments you make to your basic pattern and the rate at which you work.


About your tutor

Emma Smith studied Textiles at University and worked in child wear design. She has a teaching and training qualification and teaches at various sewing studios across the UK including the Sew Different retreats. She lives in Leicestershire with her husband and micheivious cat.
