Description

We’re so excited to offer our Memory Quilt Workshop, led by Janine from Fat Quarter Quilting.

Whether it's baby clothes or garments from a loved one, memory quilts are a beautiful way to cherish special moments. Working with a range of different fabrics which have been worn and will be from a wide variety of fabric types is a different challenge which Janine will help you navigate, making a design from the fabrics you have and supporting you through the construction of your unique quilt.

What you will learn/achieve

  • Preparing your fabrics, stabilising them if necessary.

  • Reviewing the useable areas of fabric and creating a design which works for your fabrics

  • Using fussy cutting and appliqué to include those very special details in your quilt

  • You will receive support in piecing your quilt and finally be guided through the quilting and binding processes.

What's included

Tuition: Full instruction and support in a small class. The course content will be adapted to help you with your unique fabrics and quilt design.

Use of our Pfaff and Janome machines in Stitching Kitchen's fully equipped studio.

Tea and cake during each session.

What to bring

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do I need to be a good sewist?

No need to be an expert, but if you can use a sewing machine for a straight stitch it would be helpful. (We'll get you up to speed quickly if not!)
