Ever wondered what all those switches and dials on your overlocker/serger do? Did you know that your machine is capable of so much more than just preventing fraying? It can create stretch seams and faux cover stitches and so much more!
Come and have a fun few hours at Stitching KItchen and leave any overlocker fear behind. Lindsey will help you to understand your machine and gain confidence in using it. She will teach you how to thread it from scratch. You will spend time playing with settings and tension. You will be encouraged to make mistakes on purpose - so that you can learn by your mistakes.
If you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch.
What you will learn/achieve
Confidence in threading your overlocker from scratch.
The main aim of the workshop is for you to make friends with your overlocker and leave feeling confident about what you can achieve with it.
If you have time at the end of the session, you’ll have the opportunity to put your skills into practice and make a small project to take away.
What's included
Tuition.
All materials that you will need for the workshop are available in Stitching KItchen’s fully equipped studio.
Basic sewing kit to use during the workshop.
Tea and cake.
What to bring
Ideally you will have your own overlocker to bring to the workshop. If you are yet to invest in an overlocker and would like to use Stitching KItchen’s Pfaff Admire 1000 demonstration model, please let us know when you book.
Feel free to bring any old t-shirts or other scrap jersey to practise on.
Please note that this workshop is held in our light and spacious first floor studio at Stitching Kitchen, which is accessible by stairs.
