This course will provide further learning in autism for those that have already completed the level 2 qualification.
There are no formal qualifications required to undertake this course. Although, we would recommend that you have completed a Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Autism before starting a Level 3. To secure your place please return the completed registration form available by contacting us. After this, we will arrange an initial advice and guidance session before completing an initial assessment. You do not need to be teaching to take this qualification.
If you want to be able to support those with autism using a person-centred approach to enable them to lead a healthy and fulfilled life then this is the qualification for you.
You will learn how to adopt a positive approach to supporting individuals with autism. The current legislative framework relating to individuals with autism and how different theories have developed over time. How to support and manage transitions for individuals with autism. The range of therapeutic interventions and support available for individuals with autism and co-occurring conditions. How to support communication and social interaction for individuals with autism. How to develop an understanding of how individuals with autism may be vulnerable and the support worker’s role and responsibilities relating to safeguarding according to legislative requirements.
