This course is aimed at those who would like to work as a learning support assistant in a school or further education setting. It will give you an understanding of the skills and knowledge needed to support learners in the classroom.
There are no formal qualifications required to undertake this course. Although, we would recommend that you have completed a Level 2 course before starting a Level 3. To secure your place please return the completed registration form available by contacting us. After this, we will arrange an initial advice and guidance session before completing an initial assessment. You do not need to be teaching to take this qualification.

You will learn about child development, safeguarding, supporting positive behaviour and how to maintain relationships with children and young people amongst others.

Unit 6: Support positive behaviour in children and young people

Unit 8: Support English and maths skills
Unit 9: Support the use of ICT in the learning environment
Unit 10: Support assessment for learning
Unit 11: Engage in personal and professional development
All units will be internally assessed using a range of methods which could include: written assignments or tasks such as designing a leaflet or booklet, charts or diagrams or setting up an information board.
