Taking the reins as a Team Leader or New Manager is both exciting and challenging. The skills that brought you to this position as an individual, now need to be augmented by strategies and tactics that help you to lead your team to success.
This four-part course is based on insights gathered from business leaders on transitioning into a new managerial or team leadership role. It's specifically tailored for individuals who are new to leading a team or managing staff, providing relevant and targeted guidance. The advice has been pared back, so that there is no padding - just practical, actionable content.
The course explores:
Part 1
• Ethical Leadership - what does this mean, what should you do?
• Developing a Team - what are the key actions you should take?
Part 2
• Dealing with Gossip - the stories and messages that circulate in the workplace
• Common Mistakes to Avoid - traps that most new managers fall into
Part 3
• Brainstorming - how to do it with individuals and with your team
• Performance Reviewing - the key building blocks
Part 4
• Managing Change - dealing with the individual, the team and stress
• Recovering from a Mistake - dealing with the 'Oh,no' moment - what is best?
The course will take an average learner around 180 minutes to complete and will deliver a personal certificate on completion that can be used to back up CPD self-assessment.
The course includes descriptive content, interactive elements, quizzes, short videos, imagery, and downloadable softcopy key notes.
You will have access to the course for 45 days after you have enrolled for the course and as you complete each part you can return to the part to look at it again for knowledge reinforcement.

Mindgrove runs public courses through professional bodies and tailor-made in-house sessions for organisations. Our Learning Management System (LMS) serves as a hub for specialists seeking continuous learning opportunities.
What sets our courses apart is their practical focus, equipping participants with actionable insights.
Most courses include downloadable key notes to facilitate implementation of the advice provided. While we occasionally use video and audio, we prioritise memorable learning experiences through interactive elements and quizzes, ensuring knowledge retention is at its peak.
As our courses are hosted on a private platform that is secure and active 24/7 you need to contact us at enquiries@mindgrove.co.uk to get you set up. It doesn't take long but ensures that we know that you are active on our platform and that we can reach you if you need help.
Apart from that all you will need is a browser application such as Chrome, Edge or Safari and a device with a decent screen size on which to view the content. You can access our training from a cell phone but you will generally fare better on a tablet, laptop or workstation.
Because this course runs on Mindgrove's own LMS we need to enrol you on the course. Contact us at enquiries@mindgrove.co.uk and we will get the ball rolling.
