As an organisation that takes seriously the wellbeing of our clients and recognises the significant stresses that leadership and management roles place on those that hold those positions - as well as the general mental health crisis faced across the UK - Leadership Management International (UK) have partnered with the excellent Mindcare Training to promote this Mental Health First Aider course run by Mindcare Director, Louise Larkum.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This two day course trains you as a Mental Health First Aider, giving you:
An in-depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing
Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues
Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress
Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening
Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support - whether that’s self-help resources, through their employer, the NHS, or a mix
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The course is broken down into four 2.5 hour sessions across a 10-day period.
Delegates receive a manual, workbook, certificate and lanyard, along with pre and post course support.
Louise Larkum will be your trainer: she is an education professional and MHFAinstructor and is highly credited for her online MHFA course facilitation.
Everyone who completes the course gets:
A certificate of attendance to say you are a Mental Health First Aider
A comprehensive manual to refer to whenever you need it
A quick reference card for the Mental Health First Aid action plan
A workbook including a helpful toolkit to support your own mental health
Mindcare Training offers unique value with 4 quarterly debriefs (for an hour over zoom) for companies or groups to review their MHFAider skills in a non-formal setting with Louise. We discuss good practice, difficult scenarios and add in current resources.
