Small Group Modular Online Workshop - Two Days
Module 1: Tuesday 11 June 2024
Module 2: Tuesday 2 July 2024
"[Compassionate Communication] reminds us that humans are meant to relate to one another. It helps us reframe how we express ourselves and hear others. Instead of automatic reactions, our words become conscious responses based on our awareness of what we are perceiving, feeling and needing. We are led to express ourselves with honesty and clarity, whilst simultaneously paying others a respectful and empathic attention. In any exchange, we listen for our own deeper needs, and those of others." - Marshall Rosenberg
Effective, empathic and non-judgemental communication remains at the heart of your work as a coach, therapist or supervisor. Compassionate Communication can help us deepen our own self-awareness in order to recognise and express our own feelings and needs, and to hear the underlying unmet needs of others, often expressed in unuseful ways, such as anger, aggression or emotional manipulation.
Introducing the the modality of Non-Violent Communication (NVC), also known as Mindful, or Compassionate Communication, this 2-day modular workshop will explore how we express ourselves and how we hear others - how we can increase our ability to create meaningful connections, both with others and with ourselves, even in disagreement, and how we can empower our clients to do the same within their own relationships.
Aims and Objectives:
To introduce some of the concepts of the therapeutic modality of Compassionate or Nonviolent Communication (NVC).
To discover, through experiential learning, how aspects of NVC can be invaluable when working with your clients.
To explore how NVC can help us deal more effectively with conflict.
To learn the value of NVC for developing our own self-awareness and reflexivity.
Course fee £300.00, to include comprehensive course manual.
This course is limited to just four delegates; please book early to avoid disappointment.
This workshop represents 12 hours of CPD, and is recognised by the Association for Coaching CPD Hours Scheme. The course alone is not a route to any Accredited Register nor does it fully equip a participant to practice as a qualified practitioner or refer to themselves as ‘a specialist’ in the subject matter unless they have other qualifications to support this.
Please note that the content, by its nature, may sometimes trigger some emotions. The group must remain a safe, supportive, non-judgemental space, and confidentiality should be maintained at all times. As professionals, you remain responsible for your own mental wellbeing, and the space must not be used as a substitute for Therapy.
All of us at Joanna Taylor & Associates are committed to working in a manner consistent with the Association for Coaching Code of Ethics, and the UKCP Code of Ethics and Professional Practice. When booking for this event you are agreeing to be present and interact in a manner that is consistent with these Frameworks.
Unless otherwise stated, our online courses are open for a maximum of just four students.
This course is designed primarily for coaches, therapists and counsellors of any modality; student or qualified. However, it is also open to others who are interested.
This is an online course, and will be held on Zoom. You will need a webcam with microphone in order to participate.
Owing to the nature of our courses, we do not allow any recording to take place in order to maintain student confidentiality.
