LOOKING FOR: ADULT FICTION
Steven is the agency assistant at Eve White, working closely with agents Eve and Ludo on their lists of clients. He grew up in Newcastle upon Tyne and moved to Paris after completing an MPhil in comparative film & literature at Cambridge. He taught English and worked freelance for several literary scouting agencies before joining the agency in July 2021.
Steven enjoys reading fiction and non-fiction of all kinds, but has a particular interest in non-fiction which sheds light on under-represented perspectives, communities and histories, and fiction which explores new ideas, challenges the reader, and plays with style, form, character and/or plot.
Items on his wish lists might include:
Fiction (Adult/YA) : historical fiction exploring contemporary issues through an unknown event and/or under-represented perspectives; an international thriller with an immediately recognisable hook; autofiction exploring contemporary socio-political issues; a moody detective series with a focus on human character; unique and innovative literary fiction; fun, accessible cosy crime with an original setting/protagonist.
Fiction (MG) : fun, historical adventure exploring contemporary issues; a quirky detective/mystery series; a funny and warm-hearted family-/relationship-based drama with a strong voice.
Non-fiction : memoir & voice-driven narrative non-fiction.
But, most of all, he just loves to be taken into a world and surprised by what he reads!
Steven would like you to submit a short covering letter, 1 page synopsis and the first three chapters of your manuscript in a single word document.
(In addition to the paid sessions, Steven is kindly offering one free session for low income/under-represented writers. Please email agent121@iaminprint.co.uk to apply, outlining your case for this option which is offered at the discretion of I Am In Print).
By booking you understand you need to conduct an internet connection test with I Am In Print prior to the event. You also agree to email your material in one document to reach I Am In Print by the stated submission deadline and note that I Am In Print take no responsibility for the advice received during your agent meeting.
The submission deadline is: Tuesday 28th January 2025
