Resistance at UTC Portsmouth

Description

The topic of this workshop is Resistance and it will be led by Jeremy Thomas and James Loosely at Portsmouth University.

In this session you will develop understanding of resistance practicals using graphite pencil lines, resistance wire and fixed resistors. You will explore how length and thickness affect resistance, connect potential difference, current and resistance, and investigate series and parallel combinations. You will also consider safer circuit arrangements, heating effects, graphing, apparatus choices, alternative explanations, evaluation, differentiation and Working Scientifically skills.
