Specific Heat Capacity at UTC Portsmouth

The topic of this workshop is Specific Heat Capacity and it will be led by Jeremy Thomas and James Loosely at Portsmouth University.

In this session you will explore the specific heat capacity required practical through familiar heating experiences, including food and kettles. You will investigate relationships between energy, mass and temperature change, complete the metal-block experiment, graph temperature against time and calculate specific heat capacity. You will also consider apparatus setup, efficiency, errors, significant figures, alternative methods, differentiation and practical science capital.
