Description

This in-person workshop on one of the GCSE Required Practicals is led by Eleanor Wylie, Physics Partners Coach and hosted by the Physics department at UEA.

Refreshments and the opportunity to network from 4.15pm in the foyer of the New Science Building.

This session is aimed at ECTs, trainee teachers and experienced teachers who are not physics specialists. We will be focusing on the basics of KS3 and KS4 Electricity including:

  • why static is a good starting point

  • getting to grips with electrical language

  • how to avoid chaos in electricity practicals by teaching students to troubleshoot

  • common misconceptions and how to counter them

  • useful models to develop students understanding and get them on the right tracks

Please sign up so we can make sure there’s enough tea and coffee and cakes and biscuits!

This session is fully-funded and delivered by Physics Partners. This session forms part of the Norwich Physics Hub series of twilight sessions for physics teachers, particularly non-specialists, teacher trainees and early career teachers. Technicians are also welcome to attend.
