Year 12 Study Day at Bolton School, New Chorley Road BL1 4PA on Tuesday 10th November, 10.00am - 3pm.
Our Year 12 Study Days bring physics off the page through engaging talks, interactive sessions and insights from people working in STEM. Speakers for this event include:
Stephen Ringler – Founder and CEO of Spacetime, with 25 years of experience in the global space sector. Trained as an aerospace engineer, Stephen has worked across engineering, programme leadership, and business development roles, supporting space missions, satellite programmes, and advanced technology projects in both the UK and the US.
James King – With interests in semiconductors and chip design, James’ engineering experience also extends to robotics. During his final year at university, James competed in the 2025 European Rover Challenge, bringing a practical perspective on engineering challenges and the opportunities for students to apply his skills through international competitions.
Alia Tayer – With experience spanning automotive production and intellectual property, Alia’s engineering career began with an undergraduate internship at Stanlow Oil Refinery, followed by three years at Bentley Motors. She has since spent eight years in intellectual property, working across the UK, Spain and Germany, drafting patents for emerging technologies, including new JLR vehicle features, and exploring innovations through research and client visits.
A fantastic opportunity for Year 12 pupils to explore engineering careers and see physics in action.
