Join us for a hands-on workshop, beginning with the misconceptions students have with electrical circuits. We will look at different ways of modelling electrical circuits and how models can be used ensure students have a good understanding of the key concepts of charge, current, potential difference and resistance. We will finish the session by exploring how students can be more successful when building and fault finding their circuits.

Description

Join us for this in-person session on Electrical Circuits and Modelling Electricity led by Liz Nourshargh, Physics Partners Coach and hosted by Vandyke Upper School, Leighton Buzzard.

This will be a hands-on workshop, beginning with the misconceptions KS3 and KS4 students have with electrical circuits. We will look at different ways of modelling electrical circuits and how models can be used to ensure students have a good understanding of the key concepts of charge, current, potential difference and resistance. We will finish the session by exploring how students can be more successful when building and fault finding their circuits.

Please sign up in advance so that there is enough cake!

This session is fully-funded and delivered by Physics Partners. The session is part of the Leighton Buzzard Physics Hub series of twilight sessions for physics teachers, particularly non-specialists and early career teachers. Technicians are also welcome to attend.
