NPORS Excavator 180 (N201)

Description

Overview

This course is aimed at candidates that require the knowledge and practical skills to operate 180° excavators to excavate and load materials.

Course Content

Candidates will be able to:

Understand the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as an operator

Understand the manufacturer’s handbook for the particular machine to be used

Locate and identify the major components of the machine and explain their functions

Locate and identify key controls and explain their functions

Conduct all pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacturer’s and legislative requirements

Identify and maintain PPE appropriate for excavator 180° use

Prepare excavator 180° for use

Conduct all necessary safety checks at the work area

Operate machinery safely and efficiently

Understand environmental considerations

Store and transport excavator 180° attachments

Explain loading/unloading procedures for machine transportation

Carry out all end of shift and shut down procedures

Entry Requirements

NPORS CSCS – Candidates must have achieved the relevant CITB Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) touch-screen-test within 2 years.

Good understanding of spoken and written English.

Duration

Novice course – 10 Days depending upon experience

Experienced worker tests- 1 day theory and practical assessment

Customer Site (Training & Testing) – Site must adhere to NPORS specifications
