What is good support for trans people with a learning disability and/or autistic people?

THE GOLD STANDARD:
This course covers everything you need to know to become a fully qualified dog groomer or even set up your own business. You will spend
30 days on site at our school and be grooming 2 dogs a day on most days. You will cover all coat types and our tutors are on hand to teach,
guide and support. There are 8 written modules, grooming diaries to complete and 3 practical assessments.&nbsp;This course is equivalent to the
City and Guild Level 3, but we have chosen the iPet course because it isfar more hands on, so you get a lot more practical experience, grooming
around 50 dogs during your training.
This qualification is aimed to take students on a journey from completebeginner or those with experience, to fully competent &amp; confident
commercial dog groomers, along with a module providing advice &amp; guidance on working in the industry. Depending on the needs of the individual student, the qualification can:
&bull; Prepare individuals for potential employment as a dog groomer
&bull; Support ongoing roles in the workplace
&bull; Build confidence &amp; experience of grooming, with in person, practical examples
of grooming dogs
&bull; Over 50 dog models throughout the diploma, across a large variety of breeds
&bull; Provide a strong &amp; well-rounded basis on which to progress to additional or
higher level qualifications in the same area if desired.
This qualification has been designed to enable students to:
&bull; Work practically with various dogs, with various breeds &amp; coat types
&bull; Learn how to effectively use the right equipment for the dog
&bull; Learn scissoring &amp; grooming techniques for a variety of breeds
&bull; Learn how to confidently &amp; correctly bathe &amp; prep dogs
&bull; Understand the importance and gain understanding of health &amp; safety when
working with dogs, or in a grooming environment
&bull; Gain canine emergency first aid skills (see page 12 for more information)
&bull; Have effective communication skills for working with dogs, and their owners,
understand needs &amp; effectively manage any concerns &amp; complaints

This is for students who have a good knowledge of the English language. The courses focus on grammar, reading, speaking, writing and helping students to speak with more confidence.
These courses are for students whose English allows them to communicate with others quite well much of the time, but who still make frequent mistakes so that there are regular misunderstandings.
<h3>By the end of the General English &ndash; Intermediate course, you will be able to:</h3>
<ul>
<li>talk easily with others in common social situations</li>
<li>speak clearly enough to be easily understood by others</li>
<li>exchange opinions with others and justify your point of view</li>
<li>read and understand the main points of authentic written material</li>
<li>summarise texts using English that is easily understood by others</li>
<li>write in simple correct English in a variety of formats</li>
<li>understand and use with confidence the vocabulary of daily social life.</li>
</ul>
We would expect a student to take about 12 weeks to complete this level.

This course leads to the Cambridge International English Level Testing System examination. IELTS is often required for those who wish to attend a course in tertiary education in Britain, Australia, New Zealand, the USA, Canada and some institutions in Singapore.
The course is for students with a higher level of English who are preparing for the academic IELTS examination.
The course consists of 15 hours of lessons a week. It is taught in the context of the four exam papers &ndash; Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking.
Ideally students would be at Upper-intermediate level but, as IELTS is a multi-level exam, students can join if they are Intermediate level and are committed to working towards the exam.
<h3>By the end of the IELTS &ndash; Exam preparation course you will be able to:</h3>
<ul>
<li>interpret and describe graphs in writing</li>
<li>write a discursive or opinion essay</li>
<li>read and interpret academic texts</li>
<li>answer comprehension questions on written texts as found in the IELTS examination</li>
<li>identify specific information and infer point of view in written texts</li>
<li>take part in discussions and practise the speaking skills required in the IELTS examination</li>
<li>perform with confidence in the oral component of the examination</li>
<li>take accurate notes from a spoken text or dialogue</li>
