Engaging, enabling and empowering vulnerable people to regain control of their financesClean Slate is a not-for-profit organisation set up to provide financial education and support to hard to reach vulnerable people – originally to those battling drug and alcohol addiction. Financial difficulties can exacerbate issues for those fighting addictions and make the recovery phase more difficult. Our service was set up to provide free, confidential face to face support to help; not only ‘wipe the slate clean’, but to educate people so that they can manage their own finances effectively, and not fall back in to the same financial problems in the future. WHO WE ARE 01_icon Financial Inclusion for All Our services have been designed to work closely with members of the community who have encountered financial difficulties due to lifestyle choices and prevent the likelihood of relapse, for example, into former drinking and substance misuse patterns, which impact on their financial position in life. Working a lot with service agencies such as Changing Lives and Crisis, as well as housing providers across the region including Derwentside Homes and Cestria, it has become apparent that much of what we offer is equally applicable to help the wider community.

We want to see a world where people can provide for themselves and their family, where society addresses everyone’s needs and where it does not cost more to be poor. It should provide fair opportunity for all so anyone willing and able can access employment. Our job is to do everything possible to enable people to improve their financial wellbeing. Everyone needs to be able to manage their money well, find work and access every facility to help them do so, including online services. Clean Slate, in partnership with Quids in!, is re-writing the rulebook on helping low income households to become better off. Rachel New has been a dating and relationships coach and educator in London, UK, for nine years. Drawing on her experience in research in social psychology at the University of Oxford, Rachel has a very evidence-based approach, using published scientific research to inform her advice. She encourages healthy, ethical, and mindful dating – treating others well and looking after yourself and using a mindful approach.  Rachel uses a range of approaches in her coaching, including mindfulness and self-compassion, attachment theory, emotion-focused therapy, polyvagal theory, trauma-informed and neurodiversity-informed coaching, and the Gottman Method. Rachel is a graduate member of the British Psychological Society and abides by its ethical and professional guidelines. She works with people on moving on from past relationships and divorce, your relationship with yourself, identifying your relationship needs, values and purpose, emotion regulation, dating anxiety, using dating apps and other ways to meet people, interpersonal skills, relationship skills (such as empathy, conflict management and communication), adjusting to stepchildren, and much more.  Rachel works with all ages, genders, sexual preferences, ethnicities, abilities and backgrounds. She enjoys working with people in the neurodivergent community.

Our level 1 courses (approved for a cscs card labourers application) is delivered across Yorkshire on a monthly basis!
