Some students struggle in the big classroom so we have courses that have fewer students, which allows for more attention given to the individual. We create an ideal opportunity for students who have chosen to be homeschooled, or students who need to retake but don’t want to go back to a school environment. Oxford Revision Course was set up by tutors with years of experience behind them, a carefully selected team that we work closely with. HillCrest Revision Courses run intensive examination revision classes for GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level, IB, Common Entrance and 11-plus students. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic we are only offering virtual 1 to 1 revision by Zoom or Skype on all subjects. Hillcrest Tutors underpin the quality of our courses. They are key to the success of our students and share some common qualities. They are: Highly experienced specialists in their subjects. Have a minimum of a teaching certificate or degree in their subject. Most currently teach in UK schools and colleges or are very experienced private tutors. Conversant with the requirements of the different examination boards including the three main ones – Edexcel, AQA and OCR. Many are examiners and verifiers to the different examination boards. In 2013 Abbie Chadd and Russell Tomlin were working together within the Sixth form sector. Both frustrated by the poor level of external tuition students were receiving they set about creating high quality Easter revision courses for students in London and Surrey to access. The courses were a huge success and due to the incredible feedback received, the company expanded quickly to offer further subjects.

Prof Venu Kavarthapu is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with specialist interest in lower limb orthopaedics. He was appointed as a Consultant at King’s in 2006. He qualified at the AP University of Health Sciences in India, before completing his basic surgical and specialist registrar rotation training in the South East Thames Region. His sub-speciality training included a Minimally Invasive Hip Surgery Fellowship in Los Angeles and a Foot and Ankle Fellowship in London. Prof Kavarthapu was the orthopaedic member of the King's Diabetic Foot Team, which in 2007 won a prestigious Hospital Doctor Award. Prof Kavarthapu lectures at national and international conferences on diabetic foot surgery, trauma, hip arthroscopy, and primary and revision hip arthroplasty. He is also actively involved in research and has published several scientific articles on Trauma and Orthopaedics. Prof Kavarthapu’s other roles include Honorary Senior Lecturer at King’s College London, lead clinician for the Orthopaedic department, and Orthopaedic Training Programme Director for SE London. He has been appointed Associate Professor at Odense University Hospital and University of Southern Denmark. He is also chairs the British Indian Clinical and Academic Partnership.
