We are aware that not all children will want to become the next Olympic Champion, but we believe every child should have the opportunity to learn to swim and be given the key swimming skills to enable them to reach their maximum potential. Diamond Swim Academy will provide swimmers with the skill set required as well as retaining the all-important element of fun. We are two families that have come together to form Diamond Swim Academy. We all met though swimming and were all National or International Swimmers. As ex swimmers we know what is required at a fundamental level to ensure that swimmers are given the correct skills and opportunity to reach their potential. We are proud to say we offer that individualised service at Diamond Swim Academy. We purposely do not run lessons back to back to enable a 10 minute break between lessons. We do this as we anticipate that children may take longer to get in/out or that a parent/guardian may want to talk to the teachers to discuss their childs/swimmers progress. The 10 minute gap ensures each lesson gets the full half hour of quality teaching. At Diamond Swim Academy we work closely with the National Governing Body of Swimming, The Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) and use the British Gas ASA Learn to Swim Pathway and complementary awards, as the basis of our lessons. The British Gas ASA Learn to Swim Pathway is the overarching programme for Learn to Swim. Within this pathway, Diamond Swim Academy use the ASA Foundation Framework, ASA Learn to Swim Framework and ASA Adult Framework. Diamond Swim Academy also add additional elements to each framework depending on the swimmers requirements. Swimmers will work towards achieving a set of outcomes that Diamond Swim Academy have set in conjunction with the ASA awards criteria, before progressing up through our lesson programme. Once a swimmer achieves a set of outcomes we like to recognise their achievement with the relevant award which is made up of a badge and a certificate. These can be purchased for a small additional cost. When swimmers join Diamond Swim Academy they will receive a membership pack containing information about what to expect when being part of Diamond Swim Academy. The information includes details about what the swimmer will strive to achieve, pathways they can progress along, awards they can achieve and events that we hold throughout the year.

Our story....When Sarah & Simon met in 2007, Sarah had just renovated her home and Simon had no idea what change of direction was coming his way! A few years on, after the birth of their son, they both recognised that they had more in common than just love!  Their passion for creatively ReUsing everyday items became fun and constant ReThinking anything from a shells to furniture to their most recent project an Upfurbished Lodge ReTreat in Suffolk. With Interior Design experience Sarah started to incorporate ReUsing in her schemes, recognising a “gem” that needed some ReLoving and clients started to offer her pieces to upcycle. Not long after she had her first furniture sale and commissions followed!  And so ReVamp Boutique was born! With basic carpentry skills from school Simon started to adapt some of the pieces under Sarah’s design eye and soon Simon took an interest in the upholstery side making this a formidable creative team. Sarah’s passion is to share some ReVamp secrets, and returning to her teaching experience she  gleaned at a local college, she now runs creative ReUse workshops which are not just sustainable but fun, sociable, excellent for your well being and the best gifts for family, friends and loved ones! The business has now undertaken many commissions, with Simon now an accomplished upholsterer and Sarah a furniture artist seen at Grand Designs and Westfield Stratford & London. I am a Reiki Master and a Personal Development Coach. I work with healing energy and give therapy treatments to enhance well-being. I first trained in 2005 and this is when I started teaching reiki and giving healing sessions. I retrained in 2009 with Penelope Quest, who is an international author of several best-selling reiki books. She only taught a couple of reiki courses each year as she was so busy writing. I couldn't wait to enrol on her next course, where I learnt many of the traditional Japanese methods of reiki healing.  Previously, I was a business studies lecturer for 13 years and I was also a mentor for the Princes' Trust, helping others to develop their skills into having their own full-time business. Currently I coach my own students in the area of personal development such as goal setting, managing emotions and building confidence.  In my teaching I am always delighted to share my knowledge and experiences of reiki and personal development and my students come from all over the UK. When I am not working I enjoy singing, reading and I have been learning Italian for a couple of years.
