Hannah was first introduced to Pilates during her contemporary dance training. It has been an essential tool for her to maintain a healthy, injury-free body whilst in training and throughout her professional career. She completed her Pilates Matwork teacher training with Brigid McCarthy, founder member of Pilates Foundation UK the Independent Pilates Teachers Association. Hannah has studied Remedial Pilates and has a interest in working with a variety of people and bodies. She has been working with KICC active Lothian, a charity that offers classes to people living with long term and chronic health conditions since 2013. She has also taught seated Pilates at the MS Therapy Centre, as well as regular classes at The Healthy Life Centre, Out of the Blue, Pre and Post Natal Pilates for Bea Alexander Pilates and as part of the teaching team for LANE YOGA. Hannah’s classes are fun and rewarding with a focus on breath and efficient movement through dynamic alignment. We will work on strength, flexibility and balancing the musculature of the body whilst developing the connection between body and mind.

I began practicing yoga in 2014; initially drawn to the physical benefits of the asana practice, but soon noticed the power of meditation and pranayama (breath techniques) which helped me discover some calm in my often anxious mind, and leading me to discover more about myself in the process. This experience, coupled with my keen interest in understanding life through the lens of other cultures and philosophies, ignited further during my travels across south Asia and the Pacific in 2018, lead me to seek more from yoga. Almost by chance, or perhaps with good reason, I landed up embarking on my 200hr vinyasa teacher training in 2019 with Yoga Beyond in Bali, Indonesia. This training, led by Claudine and Honza Lafond, and Adam Whiting (who I met at Power Living in Adelaide earlier that year), was a hugely transformative and rewarding experience; I deepened my knowledge of the philosophical roots of this practice, started to shift my approach to my own physical practice towards functionality, and began to cultivate the skills required to share this with others.

Emily is an experienced and passionate SEN and Safeguarding professional who, in a recent OFSTED report was called "Formidable" when it came to ensuring that the most vulnerable students received the support they required. Emily has been working with children and young people for nearly 20 years in a range of settings and roles. including working with vulnerable children in Children's Services,, working in a challenging inner city setting and undertaking teacher training in a special SEMH setting. Most recently as a member of a Senior Leadership Team in a busy Secondary Academy in Lincolnshire. In this role she was both SENCo and Designated Safeguarding Lead. Emily also took on the role as SENCo across the trust which encompassed a Primary Academy. Welcome to Healing Asana. I’m Leola. The spirit behind it. Healing Asana was a concept that had evolved out of my life’s path. The Healing Asana method focuses of creating a safe, supportive and inclusive space for practitioners to tune into themselves. My goal is to provide safe, healing spaces whether this is in an hour session, over a block of sessions or at a retreat. My system combines yoga philosophy, psychology and medical knowledge. I marry this with traditional wisdom, particularly from the West African traditions. With this mix I aim to facilitate holistic and integrated healing. The techniques I use come from my yoga teacher training my psychology degree and my current medical practice. I am a practicing medical doctor in the U.K. I run yoga classes that use the practice of asana to foster self- enquiry and self-love.
