Welcome to our Espression Arts Family, make yourself at home whilst I pop the kettle on. How are you today? Espression Arts is a creative community led by Me, Catherine, the founder, the glue behind our special, arty enterprise. I live in a small village partner to a very patient Daddy Jean who puts up with the hours of work and energy we give to projects and our clients. I am Mummy to my two beautiful children, Melodie 7, and Jerome 11, who are often with me on projects and at events, along with Daisy Dog who sometimes comes along too! I grew up with a creative and hard-working family, My dedication, work ethic, and focus for things I believe in, I get from them. My Mum who now lives with Parkinson’s in an annex in our garden spends her spare time when she isn’t bowling in the village as one of Espression Arts many creative volunteers. If I am not working I am found snuggling on the sofa watching films with a gin and tonic! Whilst studying Visual Arts at Goldsmiths University London I enjoyed spending my spare time getting to know the local community, working in pubs, and helping with play schemes. Since then, I spent 25 years developing my community facilitation and project management skills starting in youth work management working for an environmental charity in Southeast London. In 2009 we left the big city and started our Pottery Painting Community Journey in the historic town of Canterbury, opening our interactive arts café. This is where our family grew with everyone who loved pottery painting as much as we did! Sadly, the interactive arts café, closed at the end of 2020 during the Covid19 Pandemic, but we are still going strong! We continue sharing arts and wellbeing experiences with others! Happily our Espression Arts Family is just getting bigger and bigger as a result. In 2017, our family business became not for profit and became a Social Enterprise which has helped us to take profits from sales of our ceramic products, parties, and workshops, combined with successful grant applications, and deliver some of the best community projects in Kent. I am proud of our position in the local community feel respected for both business and charitable, endeavours, before the pandemic we were awarded Kent Messenger Best Creative Volunteer Project for both Canterbury and all of Kent, we were even finalists for Kent Dementia Friendly Awards. We under-promise and over-deliver with passion for people and give everyone the opportunity to experience art. There are many ways you could support our creative family! Thanks for looking at my site. On here, you will be able to see that I offer a range of transformational solutions in the form of training courses, workshops, 1-2-1 sessions, talks and also products for Hypnosis, Regression and other Life Enhancing Modalities. As well as having long-term expertise in Hypnosis and Regression, I am also a Sound Healer (running regular sound baths), a Crystal Healer, a Reiki Master/Teacher in a few different traditions and have taught Reiki for 11 years, a Fully Accredited Spiritual Healer (trained at the College of Psychic Studies way back when), Aura Soma Practitioner, a coach and I work with a wide variety of energy management techniques for the Mind, Body & Soul. In short, I’d call myself a Transformational Energy Worker, and my goal with all that I do is to help people improve the quality of their lives by using simple and effective transformational techniques in a grounded, helpful and beneficial way. I have a private practice in a wonderful location in the Lee in South Bucks. This is most easily accessible by road, and also by rail (Great Missenden 8 minutes by car or Wendover 11 minutes by car) or by Metropolitan line tube via Chesham (14 minutes by car). I have clients coming mainly from London, and also the Home Counties and nation-wide. I also been working online for 4/5 years with clients both in the UK and overseas. In the past I have taught groups in South Africa, Mexico, Belgium, Switzerland, Ireland, Lithuania, Sardinia and the UK, as well as individuals from a wide range of countries and cultures. I am always interested in new opportunities in any country, or part of the UK for talks, workshops or more. Just email me to ask if you have good ideas or questions in that respect. As well as the therapy techniques that I teach, I also offer a range of expertise and workshops in many aspects of life-style improvement, such as relaxation, stress management, increasing productivity, improving your relationship with money, changing the energy of your home and many more. I haven’t always been in the holistic arena. I spent many years working behind a desk in shipping before the call of my intuition uprooted me and led me to quit my job, sell my house and car, and put all my possessions into storage and travel the world for a few years. When I came back to the UK, I had the notion that I had to get my chakras sorted out, and found my way to a place called the College of Psychic Studies in London where I did a 2 year degree as a Spiritual Healer. Around the same time I trained to be a Reiki Master, Theta healer, Aura Soma practitioner, and I also made a truly life-changing decision when I found my way to hypnotherapist to Stop Smoking. That 2.5 hour session saw me swapping one addiction for another as I undertook extensive training in hypnosis, then regression therapy and found my passion in helping people to understand and trance-form their subconscious patterns to liberate themselves from old patterns that have been holding them back for years, decades and often lifetimes. And that’s what I do now – my passion – which is helping people like you to be the best version of yourself that you can be, by clearing and releasing the past in whichever way is most beneficial and helpful for you.

Smartkids Tuition Centre near Wombourne, Wolverhampton We are a multimedia tuition centre based in Wombourne, on the outskirts of Wolverhampton. Most of our students come from all areas of Wolverhampton, Kingswinford, and Dudley as well as Wombourne. However, we even have children who come from as far afield as Sutton Coldfield and Stoke on Trent! Here at Smartkids, we offer private and small group tuition on a range of different subjects. These include 11+ preparation, ICT, KS1 and KS2 Maths and English, and KS2 SATs practice. For older students, we offer tutoring for both KS3 and KS4 in Science, English, Maths, Humanities, Languages and of course, ICT. As a tuition centre, Smartkids Learning Success Centre is unique because we are also registered as an exam centre. Through us, students as young as 10 sit OCR Level 2 Diploma in Computer User Skills. This exam is aimed at adult learners and is not only comparable to achieving 3 A*-C grades at GCSE, but is also a qualification recognised and accepted by 6th forms, colleges, and employers. We are especially proud of the fact that not only do our youngsters have a 100% success rate at this level, but also, that the average age of our candidates is just 13 years old! The students who come to Smartkids for private tuition are all individual. Some are described by their school as gifted or talented, others are on the SEN register and have specific needs or learning difficulties. However, Smartkids Learning Success Centre is fully committed to tutoring all children regardless of individual skills and abilities.

Sullivan Upper is a co-educational, inter-denominational, voluntary grammar school. The school was founded in 1877 and, since 1939, has occupied extensive grounds on the edge of Holywood. The school’s aims remain very much as they originally were: to provide the best possible education for all pupils, regardless of race, sex, background or religious denomination. Pupils come to Sullivan from a large catchment area, covering North Down, Ards and East Belfast. We provide for all our pupils as broad and balanced a curriculum as possible; we support it (as our motto lamh foisdineach an uachtar ‘the gentle hand foremost’ suggests) with a much-praised pastoral care system; and we extend it through a tremendous range of games, clubs, societies and other extracurricular activities. A truly dedicated team of teaching and non-teaching staff helps all of our pupils to develop their talents to the full and to prepare themselves effectively for the challenges and responsibilities of adult life. Our emphasis is strongly academic and we place a high value on academic achievement. Pupils entering the school at age 11 begin a 5-year course of study leading to GCSE examinations, in which they will be expected to enter for at least 9 subjects, and it is anticipated that the vast majority of those who take GCSE examinations will remain at school for a further 2 years to take GCE AS and Advanced Level courses before heading off to universities at home or across the water, including Oxford and Cambridge. Our proud record of tremendous results in public examinations shows that all pupils are empowered to realise their potential.

Yate Academy is a happy, energetic and welcoming all-inclusive 11 to 18 academy with a thriving sixth form and a state-of-the-art building with exceptional facilities. It is an academy where we are as passionate about developing our staff as we are about developing our students. Our first meeting of 2023 occurred Wednesday, Jan 11! Our guest artist demonstrating was Roxsane Tiernan. Roxsane Tiernan was born and raised in the Greater Vancouver area. She became an international educator teaching high school and marketing for the district in Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan and Mexico. She is a Member of the Federation of Canadian Artists showing in over 70 juried shows. She studied Applied Arts at Capilano College in the mid-seventies and started painting seriously in 2000 when she joined the FCA and Burnaby Artists Guild. She really likes the challenges of interpreting local nature using chigiri-e—Japanese torn paper collage. She gives workshops and lesson in this technique even in Finland or Manitoba. Roxsane joined the North West Collage Society which is centered in Seattle. Her work was featured on their posters and invitations. She has won several awards locally and internationally mostly for mixed media or chigiri-e pieces. Please note that the Cultural Centre prohibits food and drink indoors, but we may be able to use the roof garden during the break.

The Alamiyah School stems from a project which began in 2005 with a determined group of home-schooling parents who were eager to create a positive learning environment for their children; one that would foster not only a love of knowledge but give the children a moral framework and nurture each child’s unique genius. The project was subsequently joined by a group of educational professionals and evolved into the Alamiyah Pre-school. We registered as an independent school (Alamiyah School) in 2017 allowing us to cater for school age pupils. The school now caters for pupils of age 3-11 years till the end of the primary age range. The Alamiyah School is inspired by the Prophetic Tradition and will use a curriculum infused with the prophetic stories, arts and sciences. The Montessori approach to early years is the framework upon which the school is based, thus creating an educational experience based on ancient wisdoms and modern discoveries. The Montessori approach creates an environment that offers each child the opportunity to express and develop their individuality and their innate need to learn. It is based on the natural laws of human development (fitra) confirmed by scientific advances and is therefore perfectly in line with a prophetic model for education. The curriculum is child centered, encourages independence and fosters empathy and compassion. The project is lead by an enthusiastic group of teachers trained in the Montessori approach, with many years experience with young children. Our teachers are professionals in their field and have a deeply rooted interest in education. Each of them has come to appreciate the importance of the early years learning in a child’s education and development.
