The importance of camera and lens calibration has increased in correlation to the increase in pixel count of camera sensors as well as the camera’s technical sophistication. Your photographic equipment is not only expensive and highly sophisticated. It’s performance is extremely delicate. Such is the sophistication of your DSLR cameras that even brand new lenses straight out of the box, let alone lenses that have had light knocks and bumps, can need calibration with your DSLR camera body. WHY DO YOU NEED LENS CALIBRATION? There are many reasons your photos aren’t sharp….. It could be because you are using a poor quality UV filter or protection filter. Blog – Focussing with Filters It could be you have the wrong focus settings on your camera for the genre of photography you are doing. It could be warping of the lens mount. This can occur when using very large and heavy zoom lenses without handling and supporting the camera and lens properly. A knock or a bump on the lens may have put a glass element out of alignment. This is surprisingly easy to do depending on the build quality of the lens. An astigmatism test ( commonly known as a ‘stig test’) can quickly confirm this. We often use it for customers who have recently bought a used lens and want to make sure of its quality. However, one of the most common reasons your pictures aren’t pin sharp is because your lens needs calibrating. Crimsham Farm is a community farming project, spearheaded and run by Veterans of the ArmedForces and young adults with learning difficulties. We run a variety of weekly clubs that engage with the local community, offering a completely inclusive experience for all. The site itself has been structured on a needs led basis, built and improved at every step through engagement with our users and the wider community, additions made at their request, making us the most unique farming project in the county. Crimsham Farm also acts as an alternative education provision, providing a space away from school for students who struggle to fit with the models of mainstream education and as a therapeutic centre for students with Special Educational Needs. By 2021 we will be host to a Veterans RV where members of the Armed Forces can come for mental health assistance, support groups, drop in centres, breakfast clubs and general information and signposting to help with every day life. With a passion for the outdoors, education and needs, Crimsham Farm is pioneering the way forward in positive therapeutic interactions in a safe and disabled friendly environment, providing a space that cannot be found anywhere else in Sussex in which the local community no matter the cause, can come and join in the fun, whether that’s through reduction of social isolation, inclusion in activities or just somewhere to come for a cuppa and a chat, it can be found here on the farm any time of the day, any time of the year! We have a huge range of activities to engage in, all of which can be found here on the website, and the site is expanding and improving all the time, so if you want to get involved, but cant find your niche, drop us a message or pop by for a chat. Nikki met Jacqueline in 2014 via Twitter with a desire to learn to be a chef. Fast forward over seven years and she works as a sous chef & event manager for Jacqueline, whilst working in restaurants & other hospitality venues across London & Sussex. She was head chef for Jacqueline’s own wedding! Prior to being a chef Nikki worked as a youth practitioner and workshop facilitator. Once working in food she discovered she could combine her two passions and impart her love of food and cooking to others through teaching. Whilst living in Brighton she worked at Brighton cookery school developing classes & teaching groups up to thirty children & adults. Her dream one day is to work full time as a cookery teacher following the ethos of Positively delicious. Katie Chubb Marketing Manager Katie is a marketing manager with over a decade of experience in both digital and traditional marketing, she runs an agency called Runway that helps businesses "take off". Working from FTSE100 listed companies to start ups, she creates bespoke campaigns that are tailored to specific business needs and goals. She looks after everything from email, to PR, website content, and socials. Charlie Simpson Creative Executive Charlie is a content creator, that has worked with numerous individuals, businesses and artists on projects, that have gained reach world-wide. Charlie has worked with Jacqueline since the beginning, helping to maintain our Website and offer technical support. He is also an experienced food Videographer and Photographer.

The Food Partnership was started by local residents in 2003, and our committed team of staff & volunteers deliver a range of food projects which have helped over 15,000 local people learn to cook, grow their own food, eat a healthier diet and waste less. Eating is central to life’s celebrations and memories, and our approach is to use this power of food to bring about change. Much of our work benefits vulnerable adults and people experiencing deprivation, isolation, poor health and other life challenges. Our activities makes lasting changes to habits and behaviours which improve lives. We’re a not-for-profit organisation and we work with a wide range of partners including community organisations, statutory agencies, local businesses and individual residents. Our work has been recognised by independent bodies – most recently awarded ‘Non profit of the year’ 2019 at the Brighton & Hove Business Awards, ‘Team of the Year’ at the Cost Sector Catering Awards 2019 and the ‘Community Benefit Award’ at the 2019 Southeast RICS awards for the build project to create the Community Kitchen. We led Brighton & Hove’s successful submission for ‘Gold Sustainable Food City’ status. We hold the PQASSO Level 2 quality mark, and are proud to be a Living Wage employer.
