resilience for modern life by clan wellness

HI! I'M VIRGINIE FERGUSON, FOUNDER AND DIRECTOR OF CLAN WELLNESS. Here at Clan Wellness, we believe that everyone deserves to show up as their best version of themselves and be able to take on life's challenges with confidence. We want to help you master your emotions, lift the clouds from your head, and feel healthier by building mental and emotional resilience. With us, there is no judgment. We all come with our own experience package that has shaped how our nervous system has adapted to keep us safe and alive. Our lives have evolved far quicker than nature has had time to catch up, and our nervous system is no longer adapted to the fast-paced, demanding lives we live today. This is wy Resilience For Modern Life exists. I wasn't always the content woman I am now. Throughout my life, I had bouts of anxiety, insomnia and even depression when I was 19 years young. It’s through my own experience, as a stressed-out and overwhelmed mum of two, working full-time as a project manager in the life science industry, that I went searching for ways to help. Today, as a certified yoga teacher and HeartMath coach, having left the corporate world behind, I blend ancient wisdom with modern science to create a safe and open environment, so that others can become the resilient, healthy, and happy person that they’ve always wanted to be with techniques proven to work. THIS IS WHY WE OFFER A HOLISTIC, NO-NONSENSE AND PRAGMATIC APPROACH THAT IS BACKED BY EVIDENCE-BASED SCIENCE. Around 79% of British adult experience work related stress, and 41% feel it everyday. This means there is a huge opportunity to make things better for your employees and leaders. With the Resilience For Modern Life’s approach, we can break down the stigmas of mental and emotional health in the workplace, and replace them with a supportive and caring work culture driven by compassionate leadership. Supporting employees and leadership team will not only yield more success for your organisation, it will impact them positively in all other areas of their lives too. Our promise is that employees will be healthier and happier, fostering creativity, better communication, and amplifying engagement and performance to fuel business growth and retain talent.

WQHair extends the deep passion of Waqqas, who stepped into the industry at the young age of 20. Starting his career in 2002 as a hairdresser, he knew this would only be the beginning of a unique career path in the hairdressing industry. What started as a part-time job as a hairstylist in a local salon grew into a lifelong dream to bring a higher level of service to clients. As his skills grew, so did his passion to enhance his training and education in across many areas of the hairdressing industry. That’s where Waqqas was introduced to the Flagship Toni and Guy Academy, where he completed a six-week advanced cutting course. The in-depth training, and his apparently innate talent, lead to the next step in his career path as he took a job with the Academy. Through his work for the Toni and Guy Academy, Waqqas continued to build his skill set, working in the Midlands and London. As he continued to advance his career, his next undertaking would lead him to become an Art Director who offered exclusive services to clients. That’s where he stepped into a new level of success- adding celebrities to his expanding list of clientele. Screenshot 2021-10-11 at 16.10.47 ezgif.com-gif-maker (20) Working on clients opened the door for his entrance into the fashion industry. It was here that Waqqas began his working relationship with L’Oreal Professional. He collaborated with the company to offer hairdressing services for photoshoots and fashion shows. This lead to one of the most memorable moments in his career thus far- working at the London Fashion Week for several years. In 2007, Waqqas returned to the Midlands where he would even further his training and education. As he put his skills to work in a salon setting, he began to teach and manage a range of courses required for hairdressers working in the UK and Denmark. In 2013, his training and education would lead him to his current position in the industry. Waqqas trained as a wig maker. This expansion of his expertise would lead him closer to his career goals-bringing a higher level of service to the clients he was so passionate to serve. Boa Training

Wickford

The first BOA Training and Education Strategy document was published in 2012. It set out an action centred approach to development work across four community domains and eleven projects. A year later we have taken the opportunity to refresh the strategy in the light of work completed, and some new initiatives reflecting the ever changing dynamic of surgical training and education. The BOA focuses its training and education resources on: Development of the T&O specialty training curriculum. Construction and delivery of an annual trainee instructional course, geared to a four year FRCS (Tr and Orth) cycle. Awards of fellowships and prizes. CESR courses for SAS surgeons aspiring to gain entry to the specialist register. Delivery of training the trainer and educational supervisor instructional courses. Delivery of MSK clinical assessment skills courses for those in Core Training. Revalidation of all T&O surgeons through our annual Congress with a series of clinical and other instructional content geared to a five year cycle. The development of our e-learning capability for both specialty training and broader revalidation purposes. The need for continuing pace The shape and diversity of the healthcare work force is evolving rapidly: all elements are doing more with less in order to contain NHS expenditure at a sustainable level. T&O in particular faces a unique set of challenges and the BOA has developed an action plan through which to address them: full details are contained in our Practice Strategy. Focused on high quality care for patients against the backdrop of a 15% and growing capacity gap in elective orthopaedics, the action plan highlights the need for better patient pathways, enhanced implant surveillance, strong partnerships between providers of acute care, multidisciplinary teams working seamlessly across the primary and secondary care divide, and clinical culture change within the T&O community. All this needs to be instilled in surgeons from the outset of their careers, and the challenge for the BOA as a Surgical Specialty Association is to identify, recruit, educate and nurture the best talent from medical schools and throughout their formative and specialty training in order to create sufficient: High quality T&O capacity with surgical capability in depth to meet future demand. Future clinical academic capacity to sustain the UK’s T&O research capability. The rationale for this is set out in the BOA Research Strategy In addition, we need to: Care better for our patients throughout their treatment pathways by engaging effectively and productively with General Practitioners, Nurses and Allied Health Professionals with an interest in orthopaedics. Accordingly we continue to broaden the scope of our training and education work. This will be essential if we are to encompass more fully the needs of the T&O community and the wider musculoskeletal multi-disciplinary team. Achieving this through an action centred, project based approach to Training and Education .

Eden Flower School

Eden Wedding Florist and Flower School Eden is a Wedding Florist and Flower School based near Taunton, set up in 1999 by Jane Cowling. At the end of 2014, Eden specialised to concentrate on providing top quality wedding flowers and their rapidly expanding Flower School. Eden have recently moved from their Town centre location to a beautiful countryside studio in Higher Ford. Eden is a team of two very talented Florists who have accolades such as Gold Medals at Chelsea Flower Show and widespread success in other national and international competitions. One of the most rewarding things is the transformation from students saying ‘I will never be able to make a design like that’ to ‘wow! I did make a design like that!’ It’s great passing on the knowledge Jane opened her first flower shop at the age of 19, after an upbringing in catering. A pretty tea rooms with a florist business at the back in her home town of Bampton in Mid Devon caught her eye. Within a few months, the flower bug had bitten. It soon dominated and the flower business grew and grew into a successful, well known, design led florist in it’s current location in Taunton, now specialized as a wedding florist and flower school. Achievements: – Jane has a level 5 Master diploma in floristry, has competed in many national competitions, the most recent being the prestigious ‘RHS Chelsea Florist Of The Year’ competition in 2017, She’s hoping to find the time to challenge herself again soon. She has also featured in national floristry publications and taught at Bicton College in South Devon. Jane’s fondness of teaching was indulged with the move to St.James Street in Taunton where she launched Eden Flower School running workshops, short courses and demonstrations in the distinctive ‘Eden’ style. Jane lives on the outskirts of Wiveliscombe in rural Somerset with her husband and two sons. My Floristry highlight was being crowned Chelsea florist of the year 2014 at the prestigious RHS Chelsea Flower Show with my Gold medal winning ‘fantasy floral dress' Lisa started her career in floristry straight from secondary school, when stumbling upon an advertisement for an apprenticeship as a florist in her home town of Chard. Floristry hadn’t even occurred to her but a natural talent and passion for floral design has seen her work her way from apprentice in Chard to Manager at Eden in Taunton where she has been since the beginning of Eden. Lisa’s main role is assisting Jane with the wedding flowers and anything technical, but she has been known to teach the occasional class at Eden’s flower school, her specialty being the paper wreath designs! Achievements: – Lisa has a level 4 Higher diploma in floristry, she studied at The Academy of Floral Design, and was taught by English Dutch Master Tina Parkes. She is a keen competitor in the floristry world, competing in national and international competitions, The most prestigious being crowned Chelsea florist of the year 2014 with her Gold medal winning ‘fantasy floral frock at Chelsea flower show. She competed again at Chelsea 2015 and gained another gold with her Tulgey Woods inspired fantasy floral tree. Other wins include a silver medal at the Chelsea flower show competing for Chelsea Florist of the Year 2012 with her diamond jubilee chandelier and 2 silver & 3 bronze awards in Fusion flowers International designer of the year 2010 & 2011 &2013 and the most recent is a silver medal for RHS Chelsea Flower show 2018.
