History EIFA was founded by Sabine Dehon, a teacher with more than 30 years of teaching experience, and Isabelle Faulkner, an international lawyer. They met in 2007 in London, when Isabelle was looking for a bilingual independent school and they started to talk about a vision for a rather different kind of offering. The vision was of a bilingual school, but one that would creatively combine the rigorous academic approach of the French curriculum with the breadth and excitement of the English one. An important step forward came in August 1998, when the company became an approved Provider for Apprenticeships. Since that day, Didac is now at the pinnacle of training provision within the furniture, wood and merchanting sectors, with funding flexibities, opportunities and accreditations. Initially providing services to CNC machine users, Didac has expanded to offer a wide range of training and consultancy services and pride themselves on keeping abreast of the latest requirements and opportunities presented in the world of learning. Experienced team Their roots within this sector run deep. Jon Gibson, Didac’s Managing Director, was himself an apprentice working within the industry, before becoming a lecturer at Brunel College in Bristol from 1989-1995. Commercial Director Martin James was an undergraduate trainee with G Plan Furniture becoming a Chartered Engineer, before moving into CNC router machine manufacture. Haverstock Fencing Club was formed in 1995 by a committee of epee fencers from London clubs who wanted to establish a centre of excellence in North London. They quickly managed to gain a reputation on two levels, namely as a place for elite fencers to train for the competition circuit, and secondly as a friendly but professional environment for children and adults to learn how to fence. The evidence of their success speaks for itself. Haverstock fencers have a fearsome reputation on the competition circuit, with many current and former national champions training there, male and female. Haverstock has been the dominant force in British epee fencing almost since it was established. Indeed, when top fencers arrive in London from abroad, Haverstock is normally their first port of call. More importantly, Haverstock has always seen itself as a progressive club, open to all, with a particular emphasis on children and the local community. Beginners courses are often oversubscribed and many of those that went through the early courses are now well regarded on the senior circuit. Haverstock coaches take great pride in the ability of their young protégés, and the club has also catered for disabled fencers. Costs are kept low to ensure the sport is open to all. The club has two full-time coaches (with World and European Championship experience) and two part-time coaches, who take care of all newcomers, giving them a solid grounding in the basic skills required, teaching in a fun but challenging way. Haverstock is one of the best equipped clubs in the country, with plenty of kit for beginners to use for free while they decide whether the sport is for them. Training takes place three nights a week, with a mix of group lessons, individual lessons and fitness work to cater for all levels. We also run popular training camps and weekend courses. The Chairman and committee are dedicated to continuing to cater for both the elite competitors who have so enhanced the reputation of the club as well as newcomers to the sport, along with the many children and adults who are now “hooked” on fencing, having had their introduction to it at Haverstock.

We are an extended family-run business consisting of Myself, Andy, my fiance Lucy, our 2 wonderful children, Harry 8, Libby 5, and our 3 dogs, who are a great help with the socialising of the puppies, here at the Sheffield branch. Our Chorley branch is run by Lucy's sister, Laura, her husband, Tom and their 2 children who are 10 and 7 along with their own dog. How did Puppy Steps come about? I've been involved with animals all my life and have worked with dogs of all types in breeding, owning, and training many different breeds. From high drive German Shepherds for security and family protection through to laid back, large, golden retrievers and tiny terriers for family pets. Over the past 20 years, I have built up a wealth of knowledge and experience across a wide range of breeds which has allowed us to achieve the levels of training we do in such a short space of time. Back in 2017, we bred a litter of Sproddles from our Springer spaniel and local health-tested poodle stud. We had a fantastic litter with some going to friends and family. We decided to keep a couple of the puppies back to give them a foundation of basic training before making them available to the public. From this litter, the feedback and recommendations we received we were asked to find and train other puppies. Through word of mouth over the last 5 years we now have 2 branches which each train 2 or 3 puppies per month. With puppies going not only all over the UK and Europe but as far as the Caribbean. What do we do? We offer a range of services from one-to-one puppy training sessions, right through to finding and training a puppy ready for its new family. All of our puppies live in the family home with our dogs and children as part of the family, learning valuable socialisation skills at this key stage of their development. With our exclusive in-house training, we only have a few puppies at each branch to ensure we can give maximum time and attention to each puppy and achieve the standards we strive for. We currently have branches located in Sheffield, in South Yorkshire, and Chorley, in Lancashire. We crate train and house train the puppies during their stay with us. We also teach manners and basic obedience of sit, wait, recall, and lead walking. We ensure puppies are fully up to date with worming and vaccinations before leaving for their new home. The end result is a well-balanced and happy dog that you can enjoy from the very beginning.
