What we do London Councils makes the case to government, the Mayor and others to get the best deal for Londoners and to ensure that our member authorities have the resources, freedoms and powers to do the best possible job for their residents and local businesses. London Councils runs a number of direct services for member authorities including the Freedom Pass, Taxicard and Health Emergency Badge. It also runs an independent parking appeals service and a pan-London grants programme for voluntary organisations. London Councils acts as a catalyst for effective sharing among boroughs – be that ideas, good practice, people, resources, or policies and new approaches. The strategic direction of London Councils is set by the Leaders' Committee. Meeting eight times a year, our Leaders’ Committee comprises the Leaders of all of London’s local authorities. There is also a cross-party Executive Committee which guides the organisation’s day-to-day work.

Our mission to is empower teachers to find the opportunities for independent thinking in their existing curriculum. We work with many schools that have already tried Philosophy for Children and we're often told “We value P4C, but we want to make it happen. How can we embed it into our curriculum?" Our unique approach, Philosophy Circles, encourages the facilitator to ask the first question, so the discussion gets started faster. The children’s own questions are still important, but they emerge through discussion. It makes it more fast-paced and versatile for use across the curriculum. Handouts from training courses often sit in the "INSET graveyard'. It's full of ideas that sounded great on the day but which never quite got passed on to colleagues. So we provide minibooks with busy teachers in mind, and following the course our huge range of resources means there's every support for you and colleagues continue using P4C regularly.

Henry's playscheme is our popular childcare initiative based at Horfield C of E School. It is managed by a voluntary committee of parents, who have children attending the School. The committee are always looking for parents/carers who wish to be involved with the running of the scheme. Henry's caters for children between the ages of 4 and 11 years. The club is based in our Partnership Room with its own cooking and toilet facilities and separate intercom entrance from the school to ensure the safety of your children. There is ample outdoor play space with both a grass and tarmac area. A light tea will be provided daily. Activities The Play Manager and Room Leaders will co-ordinate the play activities based on the ideas and suggestions of the children attending Henry's. These will include: arts and crafts, sport and games, cooking, entertainment, free play, computer, playstation, television/DVD, quiet corner for homework. Fees The scheme operates Monday to Friday afterschool during term time only. The fees per session are £11.75 per child. There are no reductions for siblings.

Welcome along to the sensory sessions! The Sensory Sessions started life in Edinburgh in 2016 when we, started a little baby group that focused on baby development, sensory development and play. Since then we have delivered hundreds of sessions across Edinburgh, the Lothians, Fife and Glasgow to thousands of babies! In March 2020 we moved our classes from in person to online and we have welcomed thousands of new parents along to play, learn and connect and we’d love to connect with you too! Our background is in occupational therapy which has enabled us to develop our multi-award winning programme which is delivered weekly by our team of talented class leaders. Our mission is to support you to support your baby's development! We do this through delivering our unique weekly baby development programme that is baby led, fun, themed, colourful, full of baby development information and sensory play activities. Each class is carefully planned and our class leaders are trained in sensory development, play and our programme. Our classes feature both led play & exploratory play and we give you lots of activity ideas that you can do at home too. He was always an inquisitive and innovative student who liked to experiment with new ideas; an aptitude which would later lead him to find his potential in the courier industry. After completing his Master’s Degree in Economics, Mian Jehangir Shahid has moved to Karachi in 1970 and joined a newly growing advertising industry in Pakistan. His company made billboards that targeted the cities’ major commercial districts. New ideas for promoting products were being developed as the concept of advertising was becoming popular. However, as a recession hit the country in the 1970s, businesses in Pakistan were greatly de-valued and could no longer afford to spend money on expensive advertisement campaigns. Then entering the manufacturing industry following his advertising streak, he was surprised by the involuntary lack of correspondence between businesses due to the lack of a secure and systemized courier or postal service. Seeing a potential for a courier company that could connect the whole nation, Mian Jehangir Shahid established Leopards Courier Services Pvt. Ltd. in 1983 with five destinations in the country. His foresight and vision lead towards the expansion of the company, and after establishing one of the largest nationwide networks, Leopards went international in the year 2000, setting up offices in Dubai, Singapore and China. Moreover, Mian Jehangir Shahid in recent past opened Leopards logistics and shipments; a division of leopards focused on the national and international transportation of heavy shipments and containers.
