Welcome to Healing Asana. I’m Leola. The spirit behind it. Healing Asana was a concept that had evolved out of my life’s path. The Healing Asana method focuses of creating a safe, supportive and inclusive space for practitioners to tune into themselves. My goal is to provide safe, healing spaces whether this is in an hour session, over a block of sessions or at a retreat. My system combines yoga philosophy, psychology and medical knowledge. I marry this with traditional wisdom, particularly from the West African traditions. With this mix I aim to facilitate holistic and integrated healing. The techniques I use come from my yoga teacher training my psychology degree and my current medical practice. I am a practicing medical doctor in the U.K. I run yoga classes that use the practice of asana to foster self- enquiry and self-love. About us Daying education was established with the purpose of assisting Chinese students with their academic needs. Having worked in China at some of the leading Chinese ‘985’ universities, Joseph Simpson and Thomas Durham realized that while speaking to current and former students, the process of transitioning into foreign universities was never a straightforward task. Therefore, Daying Education was set up in order to facilitate students in attaining a place at a top university, by helping proofread personal statements, CVs and other application documents. With the experience of helping hundreds and thousands of students an exceptional standard is guaranteed. Additional services are targeted at current Chinese students abroad. We have found that after a student embarks on their degree, universities rarely offer the time or services to help students improve their academic skills or general level of English. Because of this, various study skill packages are offered which we at Daying believe are particularly necessary to help a student get the most out from their academic life. I was first drawn to the healing power of movement in 2008 during my undergraduate degree in Contemporary Dance. I studied therapeutic movement and its effect on emotion. I was lucky to have been invited to visit Kaagvere in Estonia, to volunteer at an institution described as a boarding reformatory school for girls. Many of the young people I encountered here had been exposed to past traumatic events in some cases severe life changing experiences and as a result many faced mental health challenges. It was very humbling to be witness to this short part of their healing journey during my stay in Estonia. I worked alongside a dance and movement therapist to lead daily movement, dance and breathwork as a way for these young people to express emotion, to forge safety amongst their peers and to ground themselves when triggered. I continued my professional training as a dancer for some years after graduating, but this experience stayed with me and very much influenced my journey to becoming a Yoga Teacher and later Yoga Therapist

Juliana is one of the leading teachers and performers in the UK of Raqs Sharqi, the classical and folkloric dance styles of Egypt. She has a well-established teaching practice in London and holds regular workshops and residentials in the UK and abroad. Juliana originally trained with Suraya Hilal and co-managed the Hilal School of Raqs Sharqi until the mid-1990s. Alongside her studies of Raqs Sharqi Juliana took a 3 year degree course in Contemporary Dance, Performance Skills, Choreography and the Visual Arts at Middlesex University. She is now training to become a Feldenkrais practitioner. Since 1997 Juliana has been a key member of the Raqs Sharqi Society. Juliana Brustik’s unique and creative teaching style is informed by her knowledge of a wide range of body disciplines, including contemporary dance, Feldenkrais, Contact improvisation, Pilates and theatrical voice and bodywork. She believes that developing students body awareness is an essential part of helping to master the dance form, and enables the individual to find their own authentic expression.

Currently working and living in Milan, Italy, Robert Marjoribanks’ work finds inspiration and a great attachment to space and identity, spirituality and pragmantism. New perspectives and varied visual information are combined to explore possible narratives which may be overlooked or ignored as opportunities to make art which often talks of the relationships we have with our own and others culture and living spaces. Trained as a printmaker at Gray’s School of Art he was increasingly interested in the physicality of the print process. This intrigue pushed and pulled him into a more sculptural way of working. Taking into consideration the appropriate materials to use he often works with cast or found objects placed into a relationship with printed media and the environment they are found in. After being awarded his bachelor’s degree he went on to become the workshop assistant at the Edinburgh Printmakers in his hometown. After a year working with an artist residency program helping to curate and working with artists in Shanghai he has lived and worked in Treviso and now Milan, Italy.

It takes many years for a golf course to mature and develop but Ruddington Grange is now unrecognisable compared to when it first opened in 1988. Quite apart from the fact that more than 5,000 trees have been planted over the years, an ongoing program of improvements has turned this 6,515-yard Par 72 course into one of the most challenging and best-kept in Nottinghamshire. Now a regular venue for county matches and competitions, its reputation grows as each year passes, so it is little wonder that Ruddington has a thriving club membership and is a popular choice for societies and major golf days. The attractive parkland course, which has water hazards in play on eight holes, has also grown into a haven for wildlife – including a pair of resident swans. The fact that all 18 holes provide a different challenge undoubtedly adds to the interest yet the course can be enjoyed by golfers of all abilities. As each year goes by, the trees grow and the greens develop their own identity, so the degree of difficulty increases noticeably.

Zenna was founded in 2016 by Verity Woodgate to provide businesses with wellbeing programmes, supporting employees to maintain positive mental health and aid in reducing levels of stress and anxiety in the workplace. Having undertaken a BSc Psychology degree, understanding the nature of psychological wellness together with how to prevent distress through providing insight and coping strategies has always been a top priority for me. I have used mindfulness personally to combat the pressures and demands of City life whist working for London Probation and as such am a passionate advocate of the benefits these techniques provide. I have also studied Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) at the University of the Highlands and Islands and am qualified in Mental Health First Aid. As well as guiding individuals to a calmer, more organised mind-set, I also focus on improving overall health through teaching the importance of exercise, diet and nutrition. This is a great way to help staff members stay motivated and actively engaged with their mental and physical health. Zenna is fully insured by BGI Insurance.
