My name is Joel Chapman. I am a dance instructor from York, England. I became inspired by Latin and Ballroom dancing at the age of 15 after watching the hit ballroom stage show 'Burn the Floor'. My first few years were spent training in Leeds, where I achieved distinctions in all of my exams and won the national UKA championships. As I became keener to grow and develop as a dancer, I began training at Semley Studios in London, considered to be the most prestigious Latin and Ballroom training centre in the world. Here, I was coached by some of the biggest names in the business, including Strictly come Dancing's Matt and Nicole Cutler. I have also been coached by World Ballroom Champions Kyle Taylor and Scott Draper. Whilst attaining successes in the competitive world, including the UK Quarter Finals and winning the Ballroom category at the Britain's Best Dancer awards, I wanted to invest my energies into teaching. After many years of hard work and determination, I am the go-to Latin and Ballroom teacher in York. Whether you are a couple training for competitions or a retired couple looking for social dance lessons, I can offer you classes to suit your needs. I also do group classes in many different styles, offering students the opportunity to perform regularly.

Over the course of an eighteen-year career in the English Language teaching world, I have developed a style and understanding which allows me to engage learners of all levels, styles and needs and across all age ranges. Working in both multilingual and monolingual environments in a number of countries has given me a broad spectrum of experience to draw upon when trying to understand the requirements of a learner and also the difficulties they experience during their English Language journey. More recently, I have worked in product design, development and delivery. Starting from the ground level of conception based on the needs of a specific course or group allows you to see how content must fit both the learners involved and the end result required. It has also given me the unique opportunity to deliver the course and continue to make adjustments to provide the students with the best possible experience and outcome. A number of these products also have London as a focal point. This has meant integrating the city into the language learning. After years spent living and working in the capital and visiting many of its sights, using London as a source of the lessons and the activities has given me an even greater understanding of the capital and the wonders it possesses.

Burton All Stars provides professional cheerleading programmes to children of all abilities in a fun, safe and friendly environment. We currently train in level 0-2 stunts, tumbling, jumps & choreography in the Burton-Upon-Trent area . Our professionally qualified coaches are dedicated to the development of each athlete's skills whilst taking care to build confidence and self esteem. Athletes work as part of a team towards a shared goal, which often forms life long friendships. Our coaching staff help to instil important values and life lessons whilst encouraging athletes to work to their full potential. We have four competitive teams and three recreational teams ready to shine in Season 5 and we couldn't be more excited! We are located right in the heart of Burton-upon-Trent at the Deferrers Academy Sixth Form Centre. The team at Blade Education highly values lived experience as a central part of any successful project. We believe that the answers to many issues begin with valuing what members of any community can tell us about what they need for a successful outcome. Wherever possible, we hold lessons, sessions, and events outside. All ages and all kinds of people get involved in Blade Education projects. People have volunteered for us from the age of 8 to 103. From HMS Leigh, a community led heritage and arts project that connected people of all ages with the history of Southend Pier, also known as HMS Leigh, during WW2. Supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the Arts Council and Southend Borough Council, this project was created as part of the VE 75 celebrations in 2020 and survived to be one of the first post pandemic lockdown in person events in September 2021. Our latest project, Southend Safer Care Leavers has developed a free online information service for young people supporting the knowledge already given and ensuring they are ready to take charge of their own health care. Thanks to all our supporters and volunteers from a wide range of organisations and funders, Blade Education for nearly two decades has been able to offer wonderful learning experiences to thousands of children, families, and the general public. Jackie’s unexpected journey from teaching assistant to becoming Headteacher of a large secondary school has taught her what is possible for all of us. Throughout her career in primary and secondary schools, she has had a passion for empowering children and colleagues to find their innate resilience through managing their thinking. This is because she has experienced for herself what happens when we develop the habits of fearless thinking. For this work both nationally and internationally, she was awarded an OBE in 2002. Following headship, she started her own training and coaching company working with a wide range of school and business leaders and their teams. Jackie believes coaching is the most powerful way to help leaders thrive at work and at home. Her own experience has shown her that challenging our thinking habits can make us successful, healthy and happy – in mind and body. Jackie’s inspiring self-development book ‘GROW – Change your mindset change your life’ has recently been republished in the USA and she has written many other books for teachers and school leaders including ‘The Complete Learner’s Toolkit’ which offers lessons in mind management for young people. Jackie loves to deliver inspiring keynotes and workshops that share her own journey and the strategies that create lasting change. Her one to one coaching, delivered in person or online, is truly transformational and includes online support and follow up resources that embed thinking habits that make us stronger and wiser.
