How to Ride Training DART staff provides small group training to help individuals learn to ride the bus in Greater Des Moines. Training will demonstrate how to plan a trip, read maps and schedules, recognize bus stops, pay fares, practice rider safety and more. How to Ride Training sessions are free and open to the public. How to Ride Training sessions for 2023 are scheduled on the following dates: In-Person Trainings will be held in the Multimodal Room, on the Second Floor of DART Central Station (620 Cherry Street, Des Moines) February - Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 2 p.m. March - Thursday, March 16 at Noon May - Thursday, May 18 at 3 p.m. June - Wednesday, June 14 at Noon August - Tuesday, Aug. 8 at Noon September - Wednesday, Sept. 13 at 3 p.m. November - Thursday, Nov. 16 at 3 p.m. December - In-person held on Tuesday, December 13 at 3:00 p.m. in Multimodal Virtual Meetings will be held via Zoom. The International Academy of Trading was born out of necessity. Our teaching faculty is comprised of experienced traders and educators who have a huge amount of experience not only working behind the dealing desk but most importantly profitably trading capital over many years. Having worked in the industry and seen tens of thousands of retail traders speculate on the financial markets, all too often people make mistakes and lose their capital. Even when trader gets a trade “right” and the market moves in the direction that was anticipated, unfortunately the trade can get wiped out in the process. Batik Experience Days in Derbyshire, UK Try your hand at the ancient art of batik. Using hot wax and an array of colourful dyes to produce textile and paper creations, batik is a fun and unique way to craft. The process of creating batik offers a journey of discovery and surprise. The applied hot wax saves an area of colour which then resists further applications of colour as the piece builds and changes before you. Learn how to develop motifs & pattern with each subsequent application of the waxing and dyeing process and be amazed at what is finally revealed once all the wax is removed! My name is Sue and I am an experienced artist and crafts tutor with many years practicing batik. Please see www.susan-rhodes.co.uk for examples of my batik work. I offer you a warm welcome and a chance to come explore this intriguing craft. Opened in November 2018, Attic Batik was originally housed in the Market Place of Belper’s historic former public house, The White Swan. I can now be found crafting from my home-studio in Ripley and I am available to teach or to give talks and demonstrations. Hello there. My name is Maggie Cottier and I would like to wish you a warm welcome. I established MSC Computer Training in January 1997 after attending yet another long and arduous day on a computer training course. A number of things occurred to me as I endured the course; I was taught skills that I would never use, Shorter sessions would have been better as my concentration flags over time, I would have appreciated the opportunity to have somebody give me advice about my own documents, particularly Word and Excel. From this nucleus of thoughts grew the idea of creating a computer training company that had the needs of the customer as the focus. i.e. what do they want to learn about and how can we help. I hope that you will see from the website that this is the fundamental ethos behind our organisation. The customer chooses the skills, duration, dates of training. We even bring our own laptops if you do not have a suitable area for group training. We now have portfolio of well established customers, small and large, business and private, who return to us time and again. As you may have guessed my passion is Ceramics and especially the hand building techniques such as ‘coiling’ and ‘slab building’ which I than carve back at the leather dry clay stage. I am intrigued by the Raku firing technique although Stoneware firing is a also a strong process in the finishing technique of my work. I like to classify myself as a Ceramicist rather than a Potter as I tend to think of a potter as artist that competently uses the wheel to produce functional work. I always find it hard to describe my work as it varies so much and takes it insperation from so many areas and influiences and these change regularly, one thing for sure is that I have more ideas in my head than I’m ever going to be able to make. As well a exhibiting locally and nationally I also teach and run workshops for Raku Firing and handbuilding. As I build my own Raku kilns I can now offer this as a service, so if you are interested please get in contact. I have been lucky to make some great friends through ceramics along the way and have to thank them all for enriching my life and saving me from complete madness. We are a true multidisciplinary society largely made up from the specialties of gynaecology, dermatology, genito-urinary medicine and pathology. Our membership consists of doctors and nurses and we work closely with allied health professionals aligned to vulval disease. This multidisciplinary approach to the speciality enables excellence in clinical outcomes and workforce training. We have a strong commitment to education and training working with our medical colleges striving to achieve high quality standards of care for patients. Our membership currently stands at 288 health professionals from a variety of different specialities. The objectives of the society The relief of suffering for patients with vulval diseases The promotion of research into the cause and management of vulval diseases The practice, art and science of understanding, diagnosing and managing vulval diseases Achievements include: Hosting clinical conferences. Our annual two-day meeting was held in Salisbury in April 2018 hosted by Dr Abi Kingston. It was an excellent conference and 146 delegates attended Guidelines on Vulval pain syndromes (published British Journal of Dermatology). Contribution to the NHS Clinical Knowledge on pruritus vulvae for primary care and first contact physicians. Completed a Cochrane review on lichen sclerosus treatment. Funding and clinically supporting the James Lind Alliance Priority Setting Partnership to identify and prioritise the top 10 future research questions for lichen sclerosus.
