We create an environment that enables both having fun and learning through a structured rugby based play program designed by qualified coaches and teachers. We respect everyone involved in our Half Backs sessions, the children, the parents and carers and the coaches. We nurture a safe and inclusive environment for all. The fundamental movements taught at Half Backs will help develop your child both physically and mentally and help them create healthy habits for life. Schools Why choose Half Backs to train your pupils? We understand the importance and responsibilities of working with children. Our coaches are all accredited by the Rugby Football Union and are also experienced players and coaches. Were looking to expand our network of schools, so before making a decision, we invite schools to take up the offer of a free taster session, delivered during curriculum time. We believe that by experiencing our innovative teaching and coaching methods, your staff and pupils will see the benefits of Half Backs and will understand why were so many parents number one. Our courses are designed to capture children’s imagination by introducing fresh ideas and games that develop their self-confidence and improve their co-ordination.

Our regular coffee mornings and evening meetings are informal and relaxed. We often invite guest speakers from education, health and early years to talk to parents about local SEND services and answer their questions. Even if a particular guest speaker does not interest you, there is always time for a chat and a hot drink at every meeting. Children are also welcome to attend. There is no pressure to come regularly or even stay for the whole session as we know that your free time can be limited and unpredictable. Events We run workshops and training events for parents on a wide range of SEND-related issues. As well as gaining expertise and insight, you will be supported by other parent carer trainers who may have lived through the stage of your ‘journey’ and who will have knowledge and information to share with you that could be really beneficial. We also organise information days which give parents, carers and young people the chance to meet local services and providers. Partnership working We work closely with Brent Council, health providers, schools and other organisations to help design and deliver local services that meet the needs of children and young people with SEND. We regularly attend their meetings and committees to feedback the views and experiences of our members. Parent carers can help to highlight problems that are frequently experienced by families of children with additional needs, and this knowledge is useful to help professionals make informed choices about local services. Evidence shows that this sort of active participation leads to improved service provision, take up and ultimately better outcomes for children and young people with SEND. WHO WE ARE The forum is an independent, parent-led organisation that helps bring together parents and carers of children and young people aged 0-25 with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in Brent. We help and support families of children with SEND by providing information, advice and a listening ear. By gathering ideas and feedback from our members, we also work closely with local organisations to positively improve the planning and delivery of services in Brent for children and young people with additional needs and disabilities. Set up in 2017, our forum is run by a friendly group of volunteers who are all parent carers and understand the issues and challenges that looking after a child with SEND can bring.

In addition to this we can deliver our non-industry specific courses, which include Fire Safety and Fire Safety and Fire Marshal Training, First Aid at Work, Emergency First Aid at Work, Paediatric First Aid and Mental Health First aid to individuals and groups from any industry. Witham Training Centre Ltd was founded in 2021 following years of successful staff development within the care homes and childcare settings of the family group. The training facility has grown and expanded to be able to offer the same high quality training to other companies looking to increase or outsource their training needs and to enable individuals who are looking to enhance their CV by gaining the knowledge and qualifications to expand the job opportunities available to them. Ursuline High School, Wimbledon is a voluntary-aided, comprehensive high school for Roman Catholic girls from 11-18. Under the Trusteeship of the Catholic Archdiocese of Southwark. St Angela Merici Feast Day: 27 January. The school has moved through several phases during its history... The Ursulines were founded by St Angela Merici who lived in Italy in the 16th century. St Angela was born around 1475 in Desenzano on the shores of Lake Garda in Northern Italy. She was left an orphan in early life and spent several of her early years at Salo with her uncle. She acted as an advisor to the rich and influential and was known for her ability to reconcile those with differences. She was a ready helper of the poor and needy and she took a foremost place in what was very much a man's world. She moved to Brescia - the scene of her main work and where she eventually founded her company. On the 25th November 1535 St Angela founded the company of St Ursula, putting the company under the patronage of this early English saint, who was popular in the middle ages as the Patroness of learning. This was a particularly appropriate choice, as it reflected her concerns for the development and fulfilment of women. Her companions lived in their own homes but were consecrated to a life of poverty and virginity. After St Angela's death in 1540 her company became involved in evangelisation especially through education. Many branches of St Angela's company flourished and spread. There are many ways in which St Angela had a lasting effect on the company she founded and on the Church. Like St Paul she made herself all things to all people for the sake of the Gospel to bring all people to Christ. In her writings there is a great emphasis on prayer and all through her life St Angela was known as a woman of prayer. She also made a clear stand against the luxury of the world around her. She emphasized true poverty of spirit and trust in God alone. St Angela was also an educator in the widest sense of the word and in particular in the Christian context of leading people to find Christ in the circumstances of their lives.
