I studied Art & Design at Stourbridge Art College in the West Midlands for three years, before moving to West Sussex to gain an Art with Related Arts degree at Chichester University. My sculpture work featured nationally on ITV’s morning programme. Exhibitions of my work include West Dean College and Worthing Museum and Art Gallery, West Sussex. I have also had the privilege of exhibiting my work in the Awagami International Miniature Print Exhibition, Tokushima, Japan. Along with exhibitions at; Banks Mill Studios Derby, The Art House Wakefield, neo: Gallery Bolton, Gallery@OXO Oxo Tower Wharf South Bank London, Greenpea press Huntville Alabama, Hong Kong Baptist University Hong Kong and Cube gallery Moscow. After a period focusing on other art disciplines, I returned to printmaking and the joy of the process is what pushes my work forward creatively. Learning different printing methods has helped me to begin experimenting with distinctive approaches to my prints and printing style. I continue to enjoy drawing and working painterly with a variety of mixed media, developing my own instinctive style over many other art disciplines. After gaining my degree I went on to achieve my teaching qualifications, to teach 16+ students. I then gained my Qualified Teacher Learning & Skills (QTLS) professional status, which enables me to teach through all age groups (pre and post 16). I have been teaching Art classes in the West Sussex area for 20 years, both for local Adult Education and Chichester College, along with my own private workshops. I enjoy, and have taught, a wide variety of Arts & Crafts subjects and have an extensive & practical knowledge of many areas of the arts. Currently, I teach subjects as varied as Life Drawing, Watercolour, iPad Painting, Acrylics, Pastels and Chinese Brush Painting. I have also taught Pottery, Weaving, Face Painting and numerous craft classes. I am always striving to learn and pass on new techniques and ideas to my students. I hold a Level 3 NVQ in British Sign Language and am currently studying for my Level 6 NVQ. I also teach in this subject.

David's story The Fat Fish team has developed over 100 mobile apps in the last ten years, including the Tiny Sports franchise, which has had over four million downloads. How did you get started in the gaming industry? Initially via my degree and coming up with website ideas to try and make money. Just before we graduated in 2004, two classmates and I decided we wanted to set up a software business, Bright AI. We had some ideas for products and reached out to our network to find people that were looking to outsource software development projects. We won our first project a month later. Bright AI started mobile application development in 2005, producing branded football content such as wallpapers, games and animations. We developed and published the smash hit utility app My Secret Folder in 2011, generating over £1million in revenue and reaching the top five paid charts in the UK and US. This allowed us to develop more of our own intellectual property. We set up mobile development studio Fat Fish Digital in 2013, of which I am founder and managing director. What's been the biggest challenge in your career so far and how did you overcome it? There have been two big challenges in my career to date: 1. Picking up the business skills required, such as planning, cash flow and managing staff. The technical skills we picked up on our degree were second to none, but we had to learn everything else from scratch. 2. Moving away from production to management. My experience and passion lay in working on projects, so being able to delegate to others and focus on the business strategy and management was difficult. What's the most surprising thing you've encountered in your industry? Probably the biggest learning curve was learning how to run a business. In the early days of the app store it was very much like the Wild West, with people trying different tactics to get an upper hand. I would say we saw some surprising things there!

Please navigate from your WordPress admin sidebar to LayerSlider -> Options -> Advanced and enable the "Include scripts in the footer" option. Choosing the right tutor Once you've decided to opt for tuition, the most important decision is to pick the right tutor. So, if you sign your child up for a faceless brand, you are selecting a programme and you don't know who the tutor is? But you should! No really, you should: According to the governments own figures (and pretty much every international study); the level of a teacher's prior education is directly linked to the attainment of their pupils. A pupil's attainment is directly linked to how highly educated their teacher is If your child is being taught by "Bradley", who's only just finished his AS in maths (but proclaims he's "all-white at maffs"), then you can't really expect him to understand how the mistakes he makes in the way he teaches you child G.C.S.E. maths won't show up now - they will rear their ugly heads when your child is doing A-level maths. (I should know - I spend too much of my time sorting out Bradley's mistakes.) Of course, by then, Bradley will be long gone… The more knowledgeable the tutor, the better able the pupil is to learn (Wossman 2003) Incidentally, the government wanted to regulate the tuition profession. They wanted all tutors to have at the very least a degree in a subject relevant to the subject they are teaching. (In fact, they only give P.G.C.E. bursaries to graduates with a FIRST or a 2:1 degree.) That's not too much to ask is it? But pretty much all the tuition organisations opposed it… Why? Because so there are so many unqualified tutors out there! How would "B
