My enthusiasm for coaching evolved through my 35 years of sales and management, mostly within pharmaceutical sales with Pfizer Oncology and an early career in recruitment. From sales performance coaching in 2018 I progressed to personal development coaching and at the start of the COVID 19 pandemic I started coaching via the NHS leadership academy and private sector. It was at this time that I also trained to be a cancer coach with Cancer Support UK. Whether facilitating team and leadership development days or 1:1 coaching I bring energy, fun and creativity to virtual and face to face interactions. As an ILM5 coach and facilitator my approach is empathetic, encouraging, inspiring and strengths and solution focused, drawing on a variety of coaching models and leadership practices including Appreciative Inquiry and Brene Brown’s Dare to Lead. I am an accredited Conversations Worth Having practitioner, an ILM wellbeing coach, a cognitive behavioural therapy practitioner, a mental health first aider and Mental Health Swims host. Inspired by my love of the outdoors, and a Nature as Co-Facilitator programme, I like to weave the natural world into our conversations where possible. Helping People Find Their Breath, So They Can Thrive I am proud and honoured to be a known voice on Mindfulness in South West London. Over the last seven years I have dedicated my focus and energy to bringing this important life skill, centred around your breath as a tool for stress relief, with self-love as a necessary foundation, to over 6000 children, teens and adults in schools and the workplace. Having re-designed my life after ‘finding’ my breath, I am committed to teaching others to find theirs too, so they can thrive. After 20 years working in Human Resources, Design and Education, my life pivoted beyond my dreams. While living as a single mother of three teens and a dementia carer, I have dedicated my time to championing mental health and wellbeing education and tools for everyone aged 7 to 70. In 2014 these same tools enabled me to transform the challenge of divorce into a force for my happiness, as well as a way to make an impact on the lives of others. By bringing the power of Mindfulness to children and adults, I have offered them a support in everyday life, and enabled them to embrace plan B with compassion, when things fall apart a little. Plan B CAN be the life WE want to lead. How has Mindfulness helped me, my family and my career? Life presents us with challenge after challenge, each an opportunity to learn and grow … if you are in the right headspace when they show up. Whether you are finding 11+ and raising teens hard, or have lost or fallen out of love with your job, or your marriage is on the rocks, or your health or that of a loved one takes a turn for the worse … all of these are manageable, and can actually be transformative, if we have the confidence and skills to deal with them. However, if life’s unexpected pivots overwhelm us or open up old wounds, our ability to cope and be kind to ourself and others is temporarily compromised;

I first took up silk painting at the 2001 Knitting and Stitching Show at Alexandra Palace, when the Fabric Colour Workshop were doing taster sessions. I went with curiosity, and came home with a large frame, some silk, a brush and a box of little bottles of paint! Since then, I have completed my City and Guilds qualification in creative textiles (silk painting), and the "Access to Art & Design" Diploma at the University for Creative Arts in Farnham. I enjoy teaching silk painting and helping each student to achieve their potential. I have written tutorials on aspects of silk painting for Crafts Beautiful Magazine and Creative Crafting Magazine, and contributed three projects to "Craft", which was published by Dorling Kindersley. I appeared (briefly!) on Paul Martin's Handmade Revolution (BBC2), and was interviewed by the Victoria & Albert Museum as part of a project on traditional crafts. I have run silk painting workshops for many local organisations including Watts Gallery, The Lightbox, The West End Centre in Aldershot, Amberley Museum, Woking College, NADFAS, The Embroiderers' Guild, the Guild of Weavers Spinners & Dyers, and the WI. I have also run introductory evening workshops for a number of local businesses, and many private parties. I have also been working in fused glass and ceramics since 2009, and have my own home workshop. I have been on a number of courses at Glasszoo, UCA Farnham, Warm Glass and The Glass Hub, and have also attended workshops at the International Festival of Glass. I have been featured in the Glass Beadmakers UK Magazine and Journal. I am a member of the Guild of Silk Painters. I set up their Surrey Branch in 2005. I have also spent time on the Guild of Silk Painters Executive Committee as their Vice Chairman and, more recently, as their Publicity Officer. My silk painting courses are also listed on craftcourses.com. I produce a range of hand made accessories and homewares from hand painted silk and fused glass, suitable for all occasions. Shalamar Children’s Homes – Isola, Cairn, and shortly Glebeland – are based in family-sized houses around rural Essex. We are residential children’s homes with a therapeutic approach. Our aim is to resolve issues in young people and not to merely contain them. We achieve this by using attachment-based care and to look for the communication behind any behaviour. We believe behaviour is a form of communication. We would look for the meaning behind all negative behaviour in the young people within our care. From this, we work with our young people helping them to not only to control their negative behaviours, but also attempting to work through the issues which are the cause of these behaviours. Shalamar carers use Dan Hughes’ PACE method to gain a positive attachment with the young people within our care. PACE stands for Playfulness – Acceptance – Curiosity – Empathy. Given time, we aim to create a stable, secure base and safe haven for all young people staying at Shalamar, allowing the space and the confidence to heal and develop. At Shalamar, there are daily community meetings where young people have the opportunity to voice any issues they have with their care, or state how it can be improved. This space allows for the young people to feel listened to, raising their confidence, self-esteem and making them feel valued and cared for. Shalamar’s work looks to change the negative way that young people view themselves and the adults around them. Through attachment-based nurture we restore their self-belief and provide positive experiences with adults who care. We understand that many children who display challenging behaviour have had trauma at some point in their life. This usually manifests itself in emotional developmental delay. Therefore we treat the child at their developmental/emotional age, rather than strict biological age. This creates a realistic and settled environment for the young person who can succeed and receive praise for their work and efforts. We also provide a psychodynamic behavioural approach, which is worked alongside the attachment framework, where we bring the subconscious to the conscious. This allows the young people to understand why they are feeling and acting the way they are and is the first step to taking control of their actions.

I first heard of human trafficking in 2010 when a young couple visited our church. They shared about the work they were doing overseas to help young women that were caught in human trafficking. What they shared that morning took me by surprise, as I couldn't believe that slavery still existed. In my mind, slavery was a thing of the past, but as they shared about their work and the stories of the women they were helping, I felt the need to do something. At that time, I was working in a sales and marketing role at a local engineering and manufacturing company. It was a position that afforded my young family comfort, stability, and even a few luxuries. Over the course of two years, I deliberated what my role should be to help those enslaved. I knew I needed to be a part of the solution and not sit idly by. Growing up in Ukraine as a missionary kid, I learned from my parents what it meant to set personal comforts aside to better serve others. With God's guidance, I made the very difficult decision to leave the comfort of my sales and marketing position in an effort to fully commit myself to this cause. Worthwhile Wear launched in India in 2012 and then launched a variety of programs in the US in 2014. Today Worthwhile Wear has grown to offer the most comprehensive services to survivors of trafficking in the state of PA. I haven't once regretted the decision our family made to step away from a career job in order to better serve these brave survivors. Knowing that my days are spent helping women experience freedom and realize their true worth, has made each day a rewarding one. I have the support and help of my wife and two children, and we’ve committed ourselves to provide for and support these women. At my core I believe every person on this planet is of equal value and deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. It is our desire that through our actions, each woman in our programs would know that they truly are worthwhile.
