This one-day course is a must for all construction operatives! Not only is this a legal requirement under CDM 2015, but if your Company is accredited to CHAS or similar SSIP schemes you must be able to demonstrate that suitable training has been provided to your staff. The Construction Design & Management Regulations 2015 (CDM) sets the requirement for all workers to have the right skills, knowledge, training, and experience. Aims To give a clear understanding of Regulations & Legislation that applies to construction work and is an ideal refresher for any operative that has previously completed training in Health & Safety. The aim of this module is to enable delegates to perform entry-type injured person rescue operations, in a Wind Turbine Generator, using industry standard rescue equipment, rescue methods and techniques, exceeding those of GWO Working at Heights. Valid GWO BST Module Working at Heights, GWO First aid and GWO Manual Handling certificates are prerequisites for participation.

The delegates are able to demonstrate: The participants are able to demonstrate knowledge of hazards and risks associated with working at height specific to a wind turbine generator (WTG) (L2 – Knowledge) The participants are able to demonstrate understanding of current national and regional legislation regarding working at height (L2 – Knowledge) The participants are able to demonstrate correct identification of PPE, including identification of Global and regional standard markings e.g. harness, hard hat, lanyards, etc. (L3 – Skills) The participants are able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills to correctly perform pre-use inspection, service, store and correctly fit relevant PPE, e.g. harness, fall arrest lanyards, guided type fall arrest lanyards and work positioning lanyards (L2 – Knowledge & L3 – Skills) The participants are able to demonstrate correct use of the relevant PPE, e.g. harnesses fall arrest lanyards, guided type fall arresters and work positioning lanyards. Launch your Detailing Career Combining two of our syllabus levels into a 5-day period, this course has been specially created to accommodate those travelling from further afield, and international detailer training. UK Detailing Academy's recommended syllabus path remains that structured learning over a longer period remains the most effective way to deliver vocational education. It's the reason we disagree with supposed one-week 'master detailer' courses in principle, there's just too much information in a short space of time. However, we recognise that, for some, the logistical challenges can be both burdensome and financially off-putting. With that in mind, we have taken the decision to introduce an allowance to book Levels One and Two of our detailer syllabus back to back for those travelling long distances to attend. Attendees will still need to complete the coursework and take the online exams for both levels in order to achieve our certification. Machines introduced at this level include forced rotation dual action polishers, every inception of Dual action polishers, both in throw and size. We'll also look at pad types, heavy cutting options and defect identification to assess what can be rectified and how. Practical assessment takes place as part of the original training session, at the end of the course you will be assigned a (manageable) series of case studies and exercises to complete over the period of 3 months to cement the knowledge. There is then an externally assessed online exam, to ensure there are no weaker/problem areas and to assess the candidate's knowledge. After which the Level One and Two accreditations are awarded and you can either progress or choose to practice the skills gained with ongoing support. We would again stress that, if able to attend both courses separately, candidates are likely to better retain the information delivered.
