The Global Labour Institute in Manchester is a not-for-profit organisation, established in 2010 in cooperation with the Global Labour Institute in Switzerland and Trade Unions for Energy Democracy at City University, New York. Together with the GLI Moscow (Praxis Centre), and the GLI Paris (ReAct), the five organisations form the GLI Network and share a commitment to democratic socialist principles. We work closely with a range of global union federations, national trade unions, workers’ associations, development agencies, research institutions and workers’ education organisations. We conduct education, capacity-building and research on international labour movement development and organising strategies. We have specialist international experience in political education, organisation and trade union policy with informal economy workers, gender equality, climate crisis and just transition, and the design and management of international workers’ education programmes.

It is incredibly important to Yogi Explorers founder, Becky, that students feel engaged and enjoy a yoga class – a happy and safe learning environment is one from which children will gain the most. Our children’s and family yoga classes include group and partner work, games, laughter and relaxation. Using a range of approaches to combine mindful movement of the body and focus on the breath working towards a calmer sense of self. We explore yoga and mindfulness through a variety of interesting age-appropriate topics and within schools frequently link our lessons to the curriculum. There are many other physical, social and emotional benefits for children to gain from practising yoga both now and throughout their lives. Just a few include: improving strength and flexibility, building self-confidence and concentration, encouraging cooperation, finding inner peace, increasing emotional resilience and having FUN!

The first proposal for the formation of a regional network in SE Europe, particularly on the Balkan, was initially discussed by the Global Fire Monitoring Center (GFMC) in June 2002 to promote cooperation in wildland fire research and management under a "South East European Fire Management Network" (SEEFIRE). Envisaged participating countries included Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Romania, Serbia and Montenegro, and Slovenia. The SEEFIRE Network intended to address the problem of wildland fires (forest fires and fires in other vegetation types) that are increasingly observed in the SE European transition countries. SEEFIRE would establish an interactive network of institutions of all countries listed below that are involved in the prevention and control of wildland fire. Our project vision is to create vibrant local, regional and European learning communities, fuelled by Regional Learning Facilitators. We need new organisational concepts and ownership of issues and concerns from the crowd. Our approach lies in analog and digital networking and support structures that take into account the value of informal networks. The key message of the project is: “When we share, we win”. By learning communities, we mean forms of exchange and cooperation organised by ourselves or supported by the community, which ideally are supported by the involvement of education authorities. The Learning Communities deal with solutions to upcoming problems in everyday education, with challenges of the education system at different system levels, with the creation, exchange and further development of teaching materials, etc. The Learning Communities are also involved in the development of new teaching materials and in the development of new teaching methods. As concrete project goals, we see: the training of 24 Regional Learning Community Facilitators at least 12 Regional Learning Communities in 4 European countries the creation of a European cross-border learning community with at least 48 active members The development of a Learning Community Facilitator Curriculum, which will later become a standard KA1 workshop offer. the development of an AI-supported passive networking platform for teachers and school stakeholders to test a further development option for eTwinning that currently relies only on active search functions Our target group is teachers and their reference system. Our aim is to indirectly support the work of the teachers and to facilitate their planning, implementation and follow-up of their lessons by focusing on the principles of cooperation and exchange. Through active networking, but also by pointing out connection possibilities, teachers should no longer have the feeling of being alone in the corridor but embedded in a professional system that also brings them more self-confidence and self-efficacy.
