We strive to ensure our students remain focussed and dedicated and able to overcome any obstacles or challenges that are laid out in front of them. We offer a vast range of workshops and training modules to cater for an array of needs and requirements, whether you’re looking for a job or hoping to start your own business. These include… IT, Computers and internet Online Enterprise and E-commerce Sales and Marketing Business & Self employment Apprenticeship Internship Work Experience Youth Workshops Attending our workshops and training programmes leads to various benefits, such as… Discovering and developing new and existing skills Receiving expert advice on self-employment and starting your own business Learning how to maintain a business Increased confidence in interviews A better understanding of the job market and what employers are looking for The aim of our workshops and training programmes is to ensure that our learners walk away with renewed focus, self-esteem and motivation. Many students begin our training courses and workshops confused about the direction in which they wish to head and end them knowing exactly what their goals are and the steps they need to take to try and achieve them. img5We work hard to make our courses, programmes and workshops fun as well as educational, giving learners new opportunities to interact with people from various different backgrounds. We feel that the fun factor helps our students to digest new knowledge and makes learning a pleasure rather than a chore. Understandably, a great deal of our students – particularly those who have been unemployed on a long-term basis – have found themselves suffering from low self-esteem after being rejected by the job market so regularly. We endeavour to boost our students’ confidence and re-energise them, ensuring that they feel able to walk into their next interview with their heads held high. Our social development skills training programme is designed to help them solve problems and become fully integrated into their communities. It is also tailored towards enabling young people to interact with people from all backgrounds, cultures and age groups.

I have over 20 years of experience in the behaviour and training of dogs and am a member of the Kennel Club Accredited Instructors. I have a Diploma in Canine Behaviour, and am a full member of INTO Dogs, ICAN and The Pet Professional Guild. My passion is working with dogs to help them reach their full potential in a fun, fear free way, whether they are working and competing dogs, fearful rescues or family unit members. I work completely on a positive reward basis, and as an ex Veterinary Nurse I also understand the anatomical and physical restraints that some dogs have, and will work with owners to overcome the problems. I have a special interest in arthritic dogs as per my Canine Arthritis Management qualification. As both a trainer and a behaviourist, I am fully insured and offer both group classes or one to one behaviour assessments and training. Debbie Goodwin Pawsitive Dog Training I run a Rescue and Rehoming Service for my breed, Papillons, and I have extensive knowledge on rescue dog behaviour, particularly the fearful foreign dogs. I regularly, successfully compete in agility, scentwork, showing and obedience myself. Behaviour consultations typically last an hour (or more if needed) to enable me to understand your dogs issues, to suggest a way forward and to start a programme. This will be followed up with a full written history and plan. Follow up visits very much depend on the issue, the implementation of the behaviour modification plan and the individual dog. General Training for dogs and puppies can be in either a class situation or one to one training. Some dogs do really well in class, whilst others need some one to one training first, especially where a class situation is too stressful. Again, it is very much dependent on what you wish to achieve with your dog, the dog itself, and its progression as to how many sessions you will need. To book a consultation or training session please complete the Questionnaire which can be sent by e mail or downloaded here, e mail to dogpawsitivetraining@yahoo.com and I will ring you to book an appointment. If you would like to discuss your requirements prior to this, please telephone me on 07956 547769 and I will be very pleased to answer your questions at no extra charge. Consultations normally last a minimum of 1 hour and are carried out in your own home at a time which is convenient to you. It is helpful for the whole family and any other carers to be present. The cause and motivation for the behaviour will be fully explained and a staged programme of behaviour modification advised. You will receive a written report and advised of follow up visits. I am able to provide a secure field for training on a Sunday afternoon so please contact me if required.

Ippo Ippo Japanese

Hello! My name is Elly and I've been learning Japanese since 2012, and teaching since 2018, officially founding Ippo Ippo Japanese in 2020. Find out more about me here. Through Ippo Ippo Japanese, I provide teaching for both individuals and groups, with a strong focus on providing a supportive and motivating environment for students. Learning Japanese is a long but exciting process, and I hope that I can help others enjoy it even a fraction as much as I still do! The majority of classes I teach are online, meaning that you can access Japanese lessons from wherever you are. However, if you're craving some in-person learning, I do occasionally hold events in Edinburgh (Scotland, UK), where I'm based. Sign up to the Ippo Ippo Newsletter, follow me on social media or simply get in touch to find out what's coming up soon. Why Choose Ippo Ippo? There are plenty of different options when it comes to choosing how, where and with whom to study Japanese, be it with a language school, an online tutoring platform or purely through self study. While you should always look for the option that is best for you, some of the benefits of studying with Ippo Ippo include: A variety of options to suit your needs and level Teaching built around you and your learning aims Support from someone who has made the the journey from zero knowledge to fluency as an adult learner A teacher who strives to create a safe, inclusive and supportive space for all students regardless of sexuality, gender, race/ethnicity, age, neurodivergency and/or disability An independent tutor with transparent pricing and excellent feedback Explore Japanese_group photo What Does Ippo Ippo Mean? In Japanese, Ippo Ippo is written as 一歩一歩。 一 is the Japanese character for 'one'. 歩 is the character for 'step'. This makes 一歩一歩 literally 'one step one step'. In other words: 'step by step' or 'one step at a time'! The choice of name came about partly simply because of the nice, bouncy ring that 'Ippo Ippo' has to it. However, more important is the meaning. At Ippo Ippo, learning Japanese is less about sprinting to memorise every vocab item, grammar point or kanji, and more about the process of putting one step forward at a time, finding ways to have fun and explore through the language. While there are times when you may want to up the pace, in general, a more sustainable approach is encouraged, helping you to steadily build confidence and keep up motivation in the long run. 日本語の勉強、一歩一歩頑張りましょうね! Nihongo no benkyō, ippo ippo ganbarimashō ne! Let's give learning Japanese our best shot, going 'ippo ippo' - one step at a time!

Services for schools The Government’s expectation is that schools and colleges will work towards the Gatsby benchmarks. There are 8 benchmarks which constitute ‘good practice’ in career guidance for schools and colleges, they are: A stable careers programme Learning from career and labour market information Addressing the needs of each student Linking curriculum learning to careers Encounters with employers and employees Experiences of workplaces Encounters with further and higher education Personal guidance. Harrow College is now offering a range of new services to local schools for students in Years 10, 11, 12 and 13. The College offer can be linked to the Gatsby Benchmarks as well as support the school to meet their commitment to the Technical and Further Education Bill's amendment passed in the House of Lords in February 2017 by Lord Baker. We provide support to learners to progress from schools onto further education and apprenticeships. We encourage awareness of the many career opportunities available to young people and the vocational or academic qualification route they may need to take to succeed in their chosen career. College staff can assist and work with schools to: • Provide vocational advice and guidance • Collaborate during Careers Events and Parents’ Evenings • Arrange visits to college for individual learners and/or groups • Organise workshops at the College or in your school for specific subject areas allowing students to get ‘hands on’ experience. Parents Evening and Careers fair - Our staff can attend Parents Evenings, Careers Fairs and Year 11 options evenings in your school, to offer advice and guidance to learners, their parents and guardians. Tour for learners and teachers - Our staff are on hand to offer bespoke tours of the College to your staff, learners and their parents. Taster days can be a half or full day depending on your school timetable and requirements, and most subject areas are available.
