Mec and Marcia are textiles and fibre artists! We are passionate about making things by hand, using as many natural fibres that we can get our hands on! Before we had some selling space, we ran a weekly Knit and Natter session, with a small selection of yarns. Then, it was suggested that we use some of the space in an existing indie shop in the heart of historic, royal Greenwich and in February 2017, Yarnarama was born! Many people tell us that there are too few yarn shops which sell 'real/natural' yarns. Acrylic is not what they're looking for and they are prepared to pay for quality wools, yarns and fibres. We sell some commercial and designer brand names, but we like to promote and sell indie yarn dyers, weavers and spinners, too. You can also find books, magazines and patterns to purchase for yourself or as a gift. As well as knitting and crocheting, we know how to felt, spin and weave. Some time ago I was asked what about our school makes me most proud; as I searched for an answer I realized that there are so many things. There are headline achievements, such as our British Schools Overseas accreditation, our children’s attainment in reading and mathematics and our students’ IGCSE examination results. Of course, headline achievements are often based on data. In schools we love producing data to show how good our school is. Sometimes it must seem that we are motivated by this data: by the quest for ever higher examination grades or ever wider age differentials. At the BOS data is not what drives us. For us data sets are markers to show us how far we have come on our journey – data is not an end in itself; it is not the destination. In fact, I’m not convinced that the journey actually has a destination. We are motivated by the process more than the destination.

Having worked in offices before becoming a Personal Trainer, I believe I can relate to and apply nutritional and exercise interventions when working around busy lifestyles and work life. I work with a range of clients: Men, women, office workers, stay at home moms, business entrepreneurs. With a Bsc in Nutrition, Exercise and Health I look to apply critical thinking and research evidence skills to the advice I provide to my clientele. Researching different forms of training and nutrition is part of my continual development along with attending many conferences, seminars and lecturers from leading specialists. My own exercise and training consists of many forms of Martial Arts as well as strength & conditioning. I work by emphasising form and technique in weight training progressing moving towards a higher intensity. In 2018 I debuted in Amateur Mixed Martial Arts. My own goals are to compete again and gain more experience in the sport.
