This qualification is ideal for those already working, or preparing to work within industry wishing to become a First Aider in the workplace for the purposes of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1982. Topics within this qualification are regarded by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) as being important in maintaining good practice in the safe, prompt and effective treatment of injuries and ill health in the workplace. How long will it take me to achieve this qualification? This is a 1 credit qualification, with a guided learning hour’s value of 8 and it has a minimum contact time of 6 hours, which is typically delivered via a 1 day course. How is the qualification assessed? Learners must undertake a practical assessment of their competence along with a short open response knowledge assessment, where learners are required to provide a short response to a prescribed series of questions. What next? In line with guidance provided by the HSE, the qualification supports/approves work place emergency first aiders for a period of 3 years, after which point learners will need to retake the course. This is a one day course for employees in a low risk environment where a qualified first aider is necessary. This course became EMERGENCY FIRST AID AT WORK from October 2009 making it a qualification and not just an attendance.

This is a 2 day course which after completion and a satisfactory assessment, re-qualifies the holder for a further 3 years to act as a first aider in the workplace under HSE (First Aid) regulations 1981. Deligates should hold a current FAW certificate.

This 3-day FAA Level 3 Award course offers a variety of first aid situations and teaches how to respond to an emergency. It gives delegates the confidence to deal with any of these situations safely and efficiently.

Course Information Who should attend? This course is for people renewing an existing Level 3 First Aid at Work certificate. My certificate has expired! You can attend with an expired certificate although the HSE recommends you attend the full 3 day First Aid at Work/ blended Level 3 First Aid at Work (RQF) if more than a month has passed since expiry.  Requalification courses are fast paced and you should ensure that you choose the correct course for your needs and level of competence to ensure successful completion.
