The Walled Garden is a beautiful five-acre landscaped formal garden situated in Moreton, Dorset. With on site café, garden shop (including a huge range of plants for sale), children’s play park, and a range of small animals to see! The Walled Garden also offers FREE PARKING and dogs on leads are welcome. We are the perfect day out in Dorset. Explore the gardens solo, or with friends, and stop by the Dovecote Café for delicious homemade food, fresh cakes, pasties and more! We also host regular seasonal and unique events from garden trails for children, crafts, fetes, yoga, open air art exhibitions, and more! For the formal gardens, a suggested Admission Donation of £3 is politely requested (not required for family area or café). All donations go back in to the continued maintenance and development of the site. The Walled Garden re-opened to the public in May 2015, and has undergone significant replanting and restoration since then. A wide variety of perennial plants sit in the boarders, which have been styled in original Georgian and Victorian designs. 2022 will see continued development of different areas in the garden, led by our Head Gardener Martin and his team. We’ll also be looking to expand the services we provide, events, and more. We look forward to seeing you! Moreton village is close to the historic market town of Dorchester and situated on the River Frome. Moreton has become well known because of its association with T. E. Lawrence, also known as Lawrence of Arabia. T. E. Lawrence lived near to Moreton when he served at Bovington Camp and was later buried in Moreton Church Yard. Every year thousands of visitors are drawn to Moreton to visit his grave, which backs onto The Walled Garden. Many visitors also visit the village to see the Church’s unique engraved glass windows by poet and artist Sir Laurence Whistler.

I started my creative career as a painter and graduated in 1987 from Coventry (Lanchester) Polytechnic. My main interest was painting murals and I was keen from the outset that art I created for public sites should involve the people who share that environment. I went on to paint a number of large murals and worked as a freelance artist until 1999, when I began working for a local authority. From 1992 I worked as a Community Arts project manager for an artists' co-operative and then for 15 years with two local authorities as an Arts Development officer, developing and managing festivals, community events and public arts projects. At the same time I continued my creative practice and exhibited annually with Open Up Sheffield and other similar events.

Building upon our classical Wing Chun base, we practice a strong modern street-fighting system which is practical, fast and efficient. In order for a fighting system or martial art to be effective at street-level you have to train and think like a street warrior. Glasgow Wing Chun takes on a no-nonsense approach to urban combat by stripping away the non-essential flowery aspects of martial arts and keeping it real. Our students will learn a strong and practical self-defence, essential hand-to-knife skills and some clinch/grapple techniques. We are never static and continue look to develop a real-world fighting system and the confidence you need to successfully close any type of altercation – whether you on the street, at a pub/venue or anywhere you are threatened.

We seem to have lost the art of patience. Life is rushing. Time is precious. But there are certain skills that can't be rushed. Music is one of those. The strive for perfection in sound and emotion takes time, learning, perseverance, and passion. Laudonia has been created to revive a level that is truly outstanding.

Melissa is a Designer/Maker whose practice is driven by sustainability. She graduated from Manchester Metropolitain University/ Manchester School of Art in 2020 - BA (Hons) Three Dimensional Design. Her main materials are green wood, biomaterials and clay. During her third year at University she began experimenting with the potential of 'Cob' - a traditional building material made from clay, sand and straw. Visually she investigates the enchanting shapes and patterns of fungal mycelia and tree roots, giving her work a biophilic aura. Describing herself as a 'craftivist', she is filled with ingenuous optimism for the planet, using her craft to make statements about our 'throw-away' society. “I like to make things that are temporary. There is a beauty and knowing that that the earth works in cycles and not everything lasts forever.”
