An Introduction course is a great way to learn about the amazing craft of blacksmithing. The course will teach you the basics of forging and making decorative work for your home, and you will have something you have made to take home with you and enjoy.  On the course we will make a number of small items, including hooks, key rings, pendants, candle holders and others based on time available. This course is open for 12-17 year olds and will be taught on a one-to-one basis allowing the student to fully immerse themselves in the craft. Parent or guardian MUST attend and may join in the course for a fee. Courses are £200 per day A second student or the parent/guardian can be join the course for £100  I run a strict cancellation policy. If you cannot attend the date you have booked please contact me within three weeks and I will rebook your course for free, If you contact me after this deadline you will lose your place. Our first aid at work training courses are in accordance with guidance provided by the Health & Safety executive (HSE) and are both fun and informative. This qualification should enable Learners to attain the knowledge and practical competencies needed to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations. Learners should be able to demonstrate the practical administration of safe, prompt, effective first aid in emergency situations with an understanding of the role of first aider. and include dynamic and realistic casualty simulation which puts the candidates through their paces. We hold the Emergency First Aid at Work at our Education Centre in Ellesmere Port. We are also able to teach this course 'in-house' at our clients preferred site. Learners must be at least 14 years old on the first day of training and be able to perform tasks at floor level. There are no other formal entry requirements but we strongly recommend that Learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.

Accidents, Incidents, and Breakdowns Training Content: Recognizing risks and potential incidents, including breakdowns, collisions, and other scenarios. Duty of care, taking preventative measures, and handling incidents. Understanding health and safety regulations and related statistics. Prevention strategies and appropriate responses in case of an incident. Personal safety and actions to be taken during a vehicle collision. Steps to follow when facing a breakdown, including monitoring gauges and risk assessments. Ensuring the safety of other road users and cooperating with emergency services and recovery operators. Handling bridge strikes, including prevention and actions in case of an incident. Developing creative writing skills with a focus on imaginative writing, structuring, spelling, grammar and punctuation. The aim of the workshops is to help students to have written, or have made good progress on writing, their own 500 Word Short Story. We will be focussing on increasing range of vocabulary and language technique choices, along with introducing more advanced ideas about structuring stories; developing skills specifically pertinent to the Creative Writing tasks given in the English Language GCSE.
