My name is Deborah Maddison and it’s my privilege to teach and facilitate the empowering, embodying practices of TRE® and Breathwork. They can release old patterns of stress, tension, anxiety, trauma and pain. It's incredible to watch clients freeing themselves and experiencing new levels of aliveness. I live in Radstock with my husband and two teenage sons. I mostly practice in Bath, Radstock and Somerset. My degree was from the University of Oxford (I started studying physics, but then migrated to PPE). After a year of travelling, I joined the Royal Navy as an officer, but in 1999 after 7 years of service, I was medically retired due to stress, aged just 29. Despite also being a fitness & martial arts instructor, I was unable to continue for some time. Life was clearly asking something new of me, and I started a long journey to find wellness. Having experienced almost every symptom possible, related to Chronic Fatigue, Anxiety, Stress, Depression and PTSD, I can truly empathise with my clients' experiences. After having my children, I trained to lead children's yoga based adventures, before training in Reiki, Lomi Lomi Massage, Group Facilitation, TRE® and Breathwork ... I have learnt many practices on the path to wellness. Here at Healing Space I offer some of those that I have found to be effective, mindful, empowering, and truly supportive to well being. These therapies can support us in taking responsibility for our own healing journey... TRE® (Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises) Integrative Breathwork (Rebirthing) These are Empowering somatic practices that can be used in daily life and in moments of need

AM Pilates London

am pilates london

My Pilates journey started after I was diagnosed with scoliosis (curvature of the spine) as a teenager and underwent several operations to fuse a large part of my spine with rods. I was introduced to Pilates by my Physio and it became part of my early rehab - which then developed into a love for Pilates in my adult life. Pilates, on the mat and using the apparatus, has had a huge impact on my physical and mental wellbeing. To such an extent that it led me to want to help others experience Positive Movement Every Day. I work with my clients, largely on a one to one basis, identifying their needs and developing a personal movement programme whether that be for rehab, athletic training or general well being. We use the suite of Pilates apparatus (reformer, tower, chair) as well as the mat and smaller equipment (eg spine corrector, blocks and balls). If you are hoping that Pilates will help with your pain management, I can provide information on how it has helped me over the years. I have true empathy with all chronic pain sufferers and my goal is, over time, to help you improve your quality of life. I have lived in and around South Woodford for most of my life and love that my job enables me to meet and help other local people. I am a mum to two children, plus our newest addition - a puppy. They all keep me very busy and active, something that would have been a daily struggle without Pilates in my life. MY TRAINING I completed my comprehensive (mat and apparatus) Pilates training with Polestar Pilates. I am a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher and a member of the Pilates Teachers Association. I have my Level 3 in Pre and Post Natal Training, which qualifies me to teach Pilates safely to mums at a time when their bodies and minds are experiencing great change, and I am trained to teach Pilates to children (I have an enhanced DBS). If you would like to learn more about how Pilates can help improve your wellbeing please do contact me by email or completing the contact form I look forward to hearing from you.
